Game of Thrones

Sadly I have been in a reading slump for weeks now and I have barely read anything. It's bugging me to no end but I am having a really hard time getting out of the slump. And the fact that I have finally discovered Game of Thrones is not helping matters. I was not prepared for how awesome this show was going to be. I have watched all three seasons in six days and am now all caught up waiting for season four. Can you blame me though for watching it so quick? It's so good and the way they end every episode leaves you no other option than to watch the next one. This show...

I've always wanted to watch this show but never did and I'd always hear people talking about it and think "I should really start that show sometime soon." Then I saw that they had all three seasons on demand and BAM I am obsessed with this show. It's now my favorite show ever. I am so deeply invested in all of these characters and it's killing me because people keep dying.

Season Three episode 9?! I cried. I was not prepared for that and how dare they go and kill two of my favorite characters. Ugh. I won't recover from those characters dying. I just won't. Not that there aren't plenty of other characters that I'm shipping but...those two were my favorite.

Watching this show makes me really curious how good the books are. And of course the books are always better. My only concern is I've always had a hard time getting into Fantasy novels. But I really want to read these books. Has anyone read them? What did you think of them? Let me know in the comments! If you haven't read the books are you watching the show? What are your thoughts on it? I am totally addicted.

Don't Even Think About It Blog Tour

Today I'm participating in the blog promotion of Sarah Mylnowski's new book Don't Even Think About It. I am really excited to write up this post because it is such a fun and unique way to promote this equally interesting book about a bunch of teenagers in a homeroom who get a flu shot and develop ESP.

Contemporary teen fiction with romance, secrets, scandals, and ESP from the author of Ten Things We Did (And Probably Shouldn't Have).

We weren't always like this. We used to be average New York City high school sophomores. Until our homeroom went for flu shots. We were prepared for some side effects. Maybe a headache. Maybe a sore arm. We definitely didn't expect to get telepathic powers. But suddenly we could hear what everyone was thinking. Our friends. Our parents. Our crushes. Now we all know that Tess is in love with her best friend, Teddy. That Mackenzie cheated on Cooper. That, um, Nurse Carmichael used to be a stripper.

Since we've kept our freakish skill a secret, we can sit next to the class brainiac and ace our tests. We can dump our boyfriends right before they dump us. We know what our friends really think of our jeans, our breath, our new bangs. We always know what's coming. Some of us will thrive. Some of us will crack. None of us will ever be the same. So stop obsessing about your ex. We're always listening.

What would I do if I had ESP?

I'm sure most of us have wondered what we would do if we suddenly woke up one morning with the ability to hear other people's thoughts. Most likely we'd wake up wide eyed an confused.

I know I have wondered what it would be like especially after reading a book that has a story line like Don't Even Think About It. Who wouldn't want to hear other peoples thoughts? That would be so cool right? Or it could be a total crazy horrible super power of all super powers and then you're left wishing you could fly.

Being able to hear other peoples thoughts is not something I would ever want. Just. No. Would anyone really want that ability? Just the thought of it makes me nervous. As much as I am curious what people think I don't want to know. Not really. I'd much rather stay in blissful ignorance and let people keep their thoughts to themselves.

But if I did have ESP I would totally want to know what my pets were thinking. I mean who doesn't wonder what their pets are thinking? I am always wondering about what could possibly be going on in my cats brains or my horses. Like what is so spooky about that frog on the side of the road Fury? It's a frog.  You are a horse. Of course the way they think is different which is why I'm so curious what goes on in his head.

Most people would probably use this ability to find out if their crush likes them. Or use it for something not so cheesy and much more interesting. But I am a cheesy person who wonders way to much what goes on inside of my pets brains. If you had ESP what would you do with the ability? Would you want to hear other peoples thoughts or like me would you rather not? Let me know in the comments below! :)

Finally Saw Catching Fire

I have finally seen Catching Fire. It was released yesterday on DVD and of course I had to get the movie and I watched it last night. I was stoked to see this one but ended up never being able to make it to the movie theater to see it. But it was so good and in fact as I type this I have it on. I had to watch it again right away this morning I loved it so much. I'll probably watch it again and again and again because I do that to movies I really love. Catching Fire is one of those movies. All my fangirl feelings when the trailers were playing on the TV are back hardcore.

Everything about this movie was so much better than the first. But the one thing that made me so so happy was Josh's portrayal as Peeta this time around. I liked him in The Hunger Games he was good but I loved him in Catching Fire. Boy did he nail Peeta's whole being in this one. His acting was so much better than the first that for me he was kind of a scene stealer I was so impressed. Just the way he delivered every line and the way he held himself.

Jennifer Lawerence can do no wrong. Every movie she does I always love and she does such an amazing job with playing Katniss again. Like with Josh she really nails Katniss's whole being and she steps things up. She really felt like Katniss too me. Not that I didn't think she wasn't Katniss before but like with Josh she portrayed the character ten times better in Catching Fire.

I feel like with this movie they had better direction not that the last director did a bad job or anything because I did enjoy The Hunger Games. But with this one it was so true to the book and the way it was filmed made me love it right off the bat. Where as with The Hunger Games I went out of the theater wondering did I really like it? Then again I've learned not to be so judgmental towards book-to-movies but I have to say this one was so true that I don't feel like I have anything to be judgmental about. It makes me really happy and excited about Mockingjay because I have total faith in the director and the people writing the scripts after watching Catching Fire. I mean even Effie felt more like Effie in this movie. Her costumes were amazing and felt  much more like Effie than the first movie.

While reading the books Finnick O'dair quickly became a favorite for me. It was really awesome to get to see Finnick on the big screen. At first I was a little nervous about Sam when watching but as the movie progressed he really became Finnick and the next movie is going to rip my heart out. That is all I will say.

All and all I really loved this movie and am so glad that they stuck to the book the best they could. Sure some stuff wasn't in there but they kept it as true as they could fit into two hours and it really had me pleased. And I will end this so I can watch Finnick O'dair try and charm Katniss with some sugar cubes. That is not something to miss. ;)
