Waiting On Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking The Spine where you spotlight a book that hasn't come out yet but you are dying to read. My Waiting on Wednesday pick this week is..

Never Forget by Emma Hart:

 Summary from Goodreads:

A city girl.
A small town boy.
A summer they'll never forget.

Spending the summer at her Grammy's in Lilac Bay, Devon, is city girl Alexis 'Lexy' Edwards idea of hell. That is, until she reconnects with her childhood friend, Jen, and meets Alec Johnson.
Alec is the kind of guy Lexy knows she needs to stay away from. He's the village flirt, ridiculously hot and very dangerous to her self control. But there's a problem – she can't seem to keep him out, even though she knows he'll break her heart.
As Alec slowly strips away Lexy's defences and the two embark on a summer romance she never wanted, their feelings grow to more than either expected. But nothing lasts forever, and reality intrudes.
As her world is shaken to it's core, Lexy's self made prediction comes true when she discovers she's spent six weeks surrounded by secrets. Kept out by her family and the only guy she's ever trusted, she falls apart.
And when Grammy tells her that 'you might not end up where you wanted to be, but you'll always end up where you're meant to be,' she has to figure out if her meant to be is back home in London, or if it's been in Devon the whole time.

I haven't read anything by this author before but I am a sucker for city girl meets small town boy. And plus I just love a good Contemporary read. Don't get me wrong I love my vampires and werewolf hunks but sometimes it's just really nice to read a Contemp.  That being said I can't wait for this one to come out. Plus what's cool is it gets released on my birthday February 22nd! Can't wait! :)

Do you have a book you're waiting on? Let me know in the comments!

Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Should Be Reading where you grab a book, open it up, find something that isn't going to spoil the book and share it. You do this twice from any random page just make sure the teasers are not SPOILERS! This week I will be sharing two teasers from None of the Regular Rules by Erin Downing!

"What's with you today?" I spat. I hated Ella when she acted like this. "We're not interested in you're bitter sauce, okay?" (from page 71)

"Aghhh!" I screamed, rolling back into the tent. Visions of the backside-eating bear I'd teased my mom about came flying into my mind, and my heart pounded against my rib cage. "Roar," the person--bear?--growled." (from page 51)

I am absolutely loving this book! It's so funny and just great all around. I love the idea of the things that are happening in this book and I can really relate to the main character. I'm already half way done so I should be finished with it by tomorrow. It's just so good! Definitely check this one out if you haven't already! :)

Random Ramblings

Alrighty. I've been putting this post off hoping I would get back into the swing of blogging since finals are over but it just isn't happening and I don't want to just leave the blog quiet. Yeah, there have been a few posts up but nothing like normal. Hardly any reviews have been posted and I apologize for that. Things will get back to normal  but first I have to read some books which I haven't been doing as much as I would like. School has been pretty crazy this year but now that it's a new semester I'm hoping my classes will be a little less stressful and crazy packed with due dates that are all in close proximity.

I'm currently still reading Pieces by Michelle Davidson Arglye...I know I've been reading this  one for weeks now. I'm having a difficult time getting into it but I finally broke the 100 page mark and I'm getting a little bit more into it so I'm hoping to finish it soon. I don't know what is up with me lately but I've been in a lot of reading funks and it's driving me nuts. I'm determined to give this funk a nice shove towards the door though and get back into reading books like I used to.

I really miss it and I feel pretty suckish about not having any reviews up. I can say I do have a review ready to be posted but it can't go up until February...so yeah be patient with me guys. I'm working on getting some reviews up. Promise.  :)

And since this is titled Random Ramblings I have to end it with the mascots. Say hello to Rue who will now be featured as a Mascot.

She's got her diva look on in this picture. She's grown a lot since I last blogged about her. As for Nesster here's another picture of him doing what he does best...posing for the camera.

Look at that face. He thinks he's hot stuff.

Boundless Release Day

Today Boundless by Cynthia Hand has finally been released into the world. Just look at that cover. It's so pretty. It's going to look so pretty on my bookcase. Are you going to add it to yours? If you haven't started this series yet...go buy all three books now. This series is a must read!

I have been counting down the days ever since I finished Hallowed the second book in the series. And now the last book in the series has been released and I'm so happy and sad at the same time. I really love this series so knowing that this is the last book makes me kind of sad. Okay, a lot of sad but I'm happy and excited all at the same time.

Pretty much I'm having a Rapunzel Meltdown of book feels.

First I'm all "YES! It's out! I get to read more about Tucker and Carrots and all this awesome stuff!" But then I think about how its the last book and I'm all...

"No more Tucker and Carrots moments after this? Must it end? MUST IT?!" And not the mention the whole is she gonna end up with Tucker or Christan nail biting thoughts. I'm hardcore Team Tucker so I'm so nervous about all of that. She must end up with Tucker. That is all I'm gonna say about that. ;)

This always happens when a series I adore is ending. It's just so horrible and yet awesome at the same time because I know this book is going to be a boat load of epic. How can it not be? This is Cynthia Hand's work I'm talking about. Each book has just gotten better and better. And so I'll say it again, go pick up this book and Unearthly and Hallowed if you don't already own them. Start them as soon as you possibly can and enjoy! Because trust me you will love this series.

Song Of The Week

This week I've been listening to a lot of music and have had quite a few songs stuck in my head. So I'll be featuring three songs this week. The first song that has been stuck in my head is Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men.

Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men:

I heard this song on the radio recently and I ended up buying it on I-tunes because I loved it so much. It's been on replay since I bought it. I really like how this song seems like the two singers are having a conversation and it's just really different but I love it!

Wish You Well by Katie Herzig

I came across this singer because of Lexi @ The Literature Lion and now I can't stop listening to quite a few of her songs. I just love her sound! Thanks for bringing this band to my attention Lexi! :) Make sure to check out Lexi's blog the link is above. I love her blog.

The Longer I Run by Peter Bradley Adams:

This is another singer I have to thank Lexi for bringing to my attention. I adore this song! It's just my type of music. I tend to really love singer/songwriters and I really love this guys voice!

Do you have a song that has been stuck in your head? Let me know in the comments! :)

Normalish Blog Tour: Review

Today I'll be taking part in Normalish by Margaret Lesh blog tour hosted by Xpresso Book Tour. I'll be sharing an honest review for this cute book. Make sure that you check out the rest of the stops on this tour! Don't want to miss out on some other fabulous bloggers reviews!

Normalish is one of those books that makes you smile and you instantly are glad you read it. It wasn't a book I knew anything about until I came across it's blog tour sign-up. I'm really glad that I decided to fill out that sign-up forum because this book was such a cute book and I really loved it's characters and Margaret Lesh's writing.

Summary from Goodreads:

Fifteen-year-old Stacy questions the strange world of high school, love, her role in a harsh universe, and life, in Normalish.

People tell you high school's so great and wonderful, but they're lying. It's mostly horrible and full of disappointment. It sucks. Your best friend abandons you. The jerk you're in love with pretends to be into you, and then the big dump. The boy you've really clicked with as a friend decides to go all crushy over you, so you break his heart just like yours was -- smashed into little pieces. Your sister goes mental, and you get involved with a guy who’s even crazier than she is (who you know is a very bad idea, but you do it anyway). Math only adds another stink of failure to the whole thing.

High school blows. Just ask freshman Stacy. She’d want you to know.

Stacy is a fifteen year old girl struggling to understand what normal is and whether or not she fits the bill. I mean how could she possible when her sister is acting strange and her dad is dead?

The moment I started this book I was hooked. I instantly loved Stacy and her voice. She just had that voice that instantly drew me in and never let me go. She has such a great sense of humor about things and I loved her honesty not only with others but herself as well. Stacy is just a teenage girl trying to figure out life and whether normal is even real. She's one of those characters that throughout the book I just  liked more and more and her voice just stood out stronger and stronger to me.

"Joy, I hate to tell you. I've been preoccupied with boys since I was in Huggies."

This book is full of characters that you either love, hate or sympathize with.  There were four characters in particular who I really loved of them being Becca, Roman, Chad and Bobby. Each one of them are so different from each other and they all were so great because of that. Becca is Stacy's sister who ends up having a mental illness and it's very obvious that she is developing such illness. I really loved Becca and there were moments where I felt so sorry for her and moments when she'd have me laughing out loud for instance...

"Because you value my valuable advice? I don't know. If you don't want to hear it, then stop telling me things!"

Roman was another character I really enjoyed. He doesn't have much dialogue but when he's around it was just always really great. He's a pretty quite and reserved character and I think that is what I loved about him. I also really loved how he treated Stacy and stuck around despite the difficult time with Becca.

Chad and Bobby. Both so different yet both so easy to care for. Right of the bat it's apparent Chad cares for Stacy. He's the best friend who has all the qualities you want great sense of humor and all around great guy. I'm really happy with how things turned out with Chad. That's all I'm gonna say. Bobby I never expected anything that happened with Bobby. I got pretty choked up in part involving Bobby. Despite his issues you just can't help to like Bobby. He was so sweet yet so messed up.

There was so much to love about this book the characters, the setting, the writing for sure. Margaret Lesh has a way of catching your attention right off the bat and never allowing your attention to slip. I loved the voice that she gave Stacy and the way this book ended was so perfect. It made me smile that's for sure.

Though this book could be predictable at times it didn't make it any less enjoyable. Normalish was a cute and easy read that would be perfect for anyone who enjoys a good contemporary read. Rain or shine Normalish is book to be read. Normalish is getting 4 out of 5 birds from me. I certainly loved this book and look forward to more by Margaret Lesh!

~~Thanks to Xpresso Book Tour for a copy of this book!~~

Song Of The Week

This week I've been listening to a song that happened to be free on I-tunes that I ended up downloading. I'm glad I did because I really love it! It just wont get out of my head.

Change by Churchill:

I love the beat and those opening lyrics! The girl has a really good voice I'll definitely be looking into this bands other songs.

What song is stuck in your head? Let me know in the comments!

Cover Reveal

I'm a huge Rachel Caine fan and I got to meet her last year at a Smart Chicks Kick It signing probably one of the coolest things ever because you know she's Rachel Caine the master mind behind the Morganville Vampires Series. Yesterday she revealed the cover for the 14th book in the series and of course it's gorgeous!!

What do you guys think? I really love that it's the same model from the last  book that came out, Bitter Blood. I pretty much love everything about this cover and can't wait for it to come out!

From the author of the popular Weather Warden series comes the debut of an exciting new series set in Morganville, Texas, where you would be well advised to avoid being out after dark.

College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation. When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life, but they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood.

Claire Danvers has her share of challenges---like being a genius in a school that favors beauty over brains, dealing with the homicidal girls in her dorm, and above all, finding out that her college town is overrun with vampires. On the up side, she has a great roommate (who tends to disappear at sunup) and a new boyfriend named Shane, whose vampire-hunting dad has called in backup: cycle punks who like the idea of killing just about anything.

Now a fraternity is throwing its annual Dead Girls' Dance and---surprise!---Claire and her equally outcast best friend, Eve, have been invited. When they find out why, all hell is going to break loose. Because this time both the living and the dead are coming out---and everybody's hungry for blood.

When Claire Danvers learnt that her college town was run by vampires, she did what any intelligent, self-preserving student would do: she applied for a transfer and stocked up on garlic. The transfer is no longer an option, but that garlic may come in handy.

Now Claire has pledged herself to Amelie, the most powerful vampire in town. The protection her contract secures does little to reassure her friends. All of a sudden, people are turning up dead, a stalker resurfaces from Claire’s past, and an ancient bloodsucker extends a chilling invitation for private lessons in his secluded home.

In the town of Morganville, vampires and humans live in relative peace. Student Claire Danvers has never been convinced, though, especially with the arrival of Mr. Bishop, an ancient, old-school vampire who cares nothing about harmony. What he wants from the town's living and its dead is unthinkably sinister. It's only at a formal ball, attended by vampires and their human dates, that Claire realizes the elaborately evil trap he's set for Morganville.

In the college town of Morganville, vampires and humans coexist in (relatively) bloodless harmony. Then comes Bishop, the master vampire who threatens to abolish all order, revive the forces of the evil dead, and let chaos rule. But Bishop isn't the only threat.

Violent black cyclone clouds hover, promising a storm of devastating proportions as student Claire Danvers and her friends prepare to defend Morganville against elements both natural and unnatural.

In the small college town of Morganville, vampires and humans lived in (relative) peace-until all the rules got rewritten when the evil vampire Bishop arrived, looking for the lost book of vampire secrets. He's kept a death grip on the town ever since. Now an underground resistance is brewing, and in order to contain it, Bishop must go to even greater lengths. He vows to obliterate the town and all its inhabitants-the living and the undead. Claire Danvers and her friends are the only ones who stand in his way. But even if they defeat Bishop, will the vampires ever be content to go back to the old rules, after having such a taste of power?

Without the evil vampire Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, the resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their newfound freedoms, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again…

Now Claire can actually concentrate on her studies, and her friend Eve joins the local theatre company. But when one of Eve’s castmates goes missing after starting work on a short documentary, Eve suspects the worst. Claire and Eve soon realize that this film project, whose subject is the vampires themselves, is a whole lot bigger—and way more dangerous—than anyone suspected.

Vampire musician Michael Glass has attracted the attention of a big- time producer who wants to cut a demo and play some gigs-which means Michael will have to enter the human world. For this, he's been assigned escorts that include both a dangerous immortal as well as Michael's all-too-human friends. And with that mix of personalities, this is going to be a road trip from hell...

While developing a new system to maintain Morganville's defenses, student Claire Danvers discovers a way to amplify vampire mental powers. Through this, she's able to re-establish the field around this vampire-infested Texas college town that protects it from outsiders.

But the new upgrades have an unexpected consequence: people inside the town begin to slowly forget who they are-even the vampires. Soon, the town's little memory problem has turned into a full-on epidemic. Now Claire needs to figure out a way to pull the plug on her experiment- before she forgets how to save Morganville...

After discovering that vampires populate her town, college student Claire Danvers knows that the undead just want to live their lives. But someone else wants them to get ready to rumble.

There's a new extreme sport getting picked up on the Internet: bare—knuckle fights pitting captured vampires against each other—or humans. Tracking the remote signal leads Claire—accompanied by her friends and frenemies—to discover that what started as an online brawl will soon threaten everyone in Morganville...

With her boss preoccupied researching the Founder Houses in Morganville, student Claire Danvers is left to her own devices when she learns that three vampires have vanished without a trace. She soon discovers that the last person seen with one of the missing vampires is someone new to town-a mysterious individual named Magnus. After an uneasy encounter with Morganville's latest resident, Claire is certain Magnus isn't merely human. But is he a vampire-or something else entirely

Ever since the draug—mysterious creatures that prey on vampires—took over Morganville, the lives of student Claire Danvers and her friends have been thrown into turmoil. Most of the town’s residents have evacuated, but Claire, Shane, Eve and Michael have chosen to stay and fight.Using the city’s water system to spread, the draug have rapidly multiplied. Things in Morganville look grim, especially since vampire Amelie—the town founder—has been infected by the master draug’s bite.

Now, if Claire and her friends don’t figure out how to cure Amelie and defeat the draug, it looks like Morganville will become little more than a ghost town…

For years, the human and vampire residents of Morganville, Texas, have managed to co-exist in peace. But now that the threat to the vampires has been defeated, the human residents are learning that the gravest danger they face is the enemy within…

Thanks to the eradication of the parasitic creatures known as the draug, the vampires of Morganville have been freed of their usual constraints. With the vampires indulging their every whim, the town’s human population is determined to hold on to their lives by taking up arms. But college student Claire Danvers isn’t about to take sides, considering she has ties to both the humans and the vampires.

To make matters worse, a television show comes to Morganville looking for ghosts, just as vampire and human politics collide. Now, Claire and her friends have to figure out how to keep the peace without ending up on the nightly news… or worse.

Claire never thought she’d leave Morganville, but when she gets accepted into the graduate program at MIT, she can’t pass up the opportunity. Saying good-bye to her friends is bittersweet, especially since things are still raw and unsettled between Claire and her boyfriend, Shane.

Her new life at MIT is scary and exciting, but Morganville is never really far from Claire’s mind. Enrolled in a special advanced study program with Professor Irene Anderson, a former Morganville native, Claire is able to work on her machine, which is designed to cancel the mental abilities of vampires.

But when she begins testing her machine on live subjects, things quickly spiral out of control, and Claire starts to wonder whether leaving Morganville was the last mistake she’ll ever make...

If you haven't started this series yet what are you waiting for? Get on it! This is one of my favorite series and it just gets better with each book.

Waiting On Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking The Spine where you spotlight a book that hasn't come out yet but you are dying to read. My Waiting on Wednesday pick this week is..

Dare You To by Katie McGarry:

Summary from Goodreads:

 "I dare you..."

That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....

Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.

Ever since the cover and summary for this book was revealed I've been dying to get my hands on a copy of it. I loved Pushing The Limits and something tells me this one is going to be even better...which seems kind of impossible because of how good Pushing The Limits was. It won't be released until May 28th of 2013.

What book are you waiting on?

Song Of The Week

Last week there wasn't a Song Of The Week post. There wasn't really anything posted for a bit on here but I'm going to get back into the swing of things. This week I've been listening to a movie soundtrack that I love. I love listening to movie soundtracks and this one is one of my favorites.

Try Again by Tree Adams:

This whole soundtrack is fantastic and fits the movie so well. Try Again has been stuck in my head more than the other ones. If you haven't seen Keith yet I recommend you do. It's a really great movie! I've watched it a bunch of times and I still love it. :)

Do you have a song stuck in your head? Let me know in the comments!
