I Will Be Back

I haven't wanted to type up a post like this one because then I feel like I'm letting down everyone who follows the blog and expects to see something new every day or even just every other day. But I gotta say that I'm not feeling to great about blogging these days.

When I first started blogging I wasn't all that busy but now that I'm in my junior year of high school--which thankfully is almost over ah the stress will be gone yay!--and I have a job and intend to get another I've been well, busy.  I haven't really discussed it on here but the farm I work at is going to be selling this summer and because I am seriously attached to Fury I'm saving up as much as I can to afford him. With that and school and everything else my brain has been quite preoccupied!

Now, I don't want to stop blogging completely because I do really love it but lately I haven't had the enthusiasm that I had when I first started. Right now if I'm being honest it feels like if I don't take a short break the things I do post won't be any good. They will feel forced. I don't want that!

I want this blog to be all that it can and at the moment with everything going on in my life apart from the blogging I haven't been putting all I can into Novel Nerd. I really just need to take like a month to just read books that I desire to read in that moment. I recently just reopened my review requests and within the next day I closed them again because I am in desperate need of reading all those unread books sitting on my bookshelf's.

So, even though the blog might be quiet for a bit aside from blog tours that I have scheduled don't worry I will be back. I just need a short break and hopefully when I come back I'll have the same enthusiasm I had when I first started this blog.

Thanks for understanding guys!

Falling For Hadie

I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I decided to review Falling For Hadie. Did I know this book was gonna gut me? Nope. Did I know this book was going to be so beautiful and breathtaking? Not at all. This book was so surprising and I loved it so much. It's going to be really difficult to express just how much I adored this book.

Summary from Goodreads:

Running away from his old life in New York City, Lincoln Bracks ends up in the small town of Statlen, Iowa. He isn’t interested in making friends or getting to know anyone. He just wants to keep his head down and disappear amongst the crowd. That was the plan anyway, until he meets Hadie Swinton.

Nursing a broken heart and the realization that the boy she’s loved her entire life isn’t Prince Charming, Hadie is set against ever falling for the same type of guy again. But when new boy, Lincoln, arrives in town, she discovers that this is easier said than done.

Hadie assumes that Lincoln is a typical arrogant jock—he is good-looking, confident and charming—but when he doesn’t do anything she expects him to, she is intrigued by him against her better judgment. There is definitely more to Lincoln then just a pretty face, but Lincoln is hiding something that he doesn’t want anybody to discover because when they do, they will never look at him the same again.

Falling in love was the last thing Lincoln wanted to do, so how will he convince himself to fall out of it?

Hadie despises the boy race. Lincoln's the new kid in town determined not to make any friends. Hadie is determined to hate Lincoln but when these two realize they aren't who they seem and a friendship develops all bets are off.

Hadie is my new favorite character. There was so much about her that I could relate too. And when reading a book I feel it's important to be able to relate to one of the main characters. I definitely had that with this book! If Hadie was real we'd be BFF's. She's a total book worm who defends her favorite characters. She's sassy when she wants to be. She's totally a nerd who can act like a goof in front of a total hottie. And she isn't afraid to throw a punch when someone gets all up in her personal space. Hadie is just awesome plain and simple. I really loved watching her come out of her shell and seeing her see life differently the closer she and Lincoln became. It was just so beautiful!

Lincoln. Oh boy. I was a goner the moment his point of view appeared on the pages. Lincoln is so much more than I realized he was going to be. At first of course I was like "Hello Lincoln you witty hunk!" but as the story progressed and Lincoln grew I realized Lincoln wasn't just a guy who could be witty and was easy on the eyes. He was beautiful not just on the outside but on the inside as well. He saw life differently and didn't take it for granted. I adore this character so much and I can't do him justice at all. You have to read the book to really understand how amazing this character is.

I'm really starting to love the alternating point of view from girl and guy. I feel like it's a good balance getting to see things from both characters perspective rather than just the one. I've never been a huge fan of the male point of view but the more I read books like this one with alternating point of views especially when they are well done I find I'm really starting to adore getting to see things from the male perspective!

I should have saw it coming but I didn't realize that this book was going to do what it did to me. It gutted me the moment my concerns were confirmed. There are subtle hints about what is going on in Lincoln's life but when it's actually confirmed...you want to just to sit in a corner and cry. And you want to know why? Because these characters seemed so real and reading you grow an insane attachment to them. That's one of the things I loved about this book was how amazingly developed these characters were.

Komal Kant oh my goodness can this woman write! It's been a long time since I've gotten so invested in a book. The moment I started Falling For Hadie I was hooked. I read my morning away and then the moment I could was back at my desk reading this book. It was just so good and beautifully written that I couldn't get enough! I am a huge fan of this author just simply by reading this one book by her. The way she writes is just so beautiful and captivating that you can't help but love her work--even the books you haven't read yet! I will most definitely be reading more by Komal Kant. Consider me a new fan!

This book was full of amazing characters but there were a few who I seriously wanted to bitch slap. Just another reason I love Hadie by the way. You'll understand what I mean when you read the book and the bitch slap scene comes up. I wanted to high five her for doing that. But back to the insufferable characters. Komal Kant doesn't just create awesome characters who you adore but she sure as heck knows how to create the ones you hate with a fiery passion. I could not understand Lincoln's family and how they could treat him like that. His mother and twin sister were so self centered it drove me nuts. What bothered me the most is how Becky knowing what she knew could act the way she did. Was she that stupid that popularity was more important than her twin brother? Karma, girl. That's all I gotta say about that character.

Falling For Hadie is getting 5 out of 5 birds from me! I could go on and on about how amazing this book is but even so my words won't ever give it justice. It  boils down to having to read it to fully understand how beautiful and breathtaking this book is. It's the kind of book to make you fall in love with the Contemporary genre if you aren't all that familiar with it and it's the type of book to make you fall in love with the Contemporary genre all over again. I can't wait to read another book by this author!

~~Thanks to Komal Kant for providing me with a copy of this book!!~~

Song Of The Week

For the longest time I was a fan of Paramore but they didn't have anything new and I'd listened to their songs so much that I just got bored with them. But recently they just released a new album and I love it! They sound so good. I actually think they sound better now than they did. Which some people say different since they lost those brothers...but I say they sound better. :P

I am in love with this song. I listened to a acoustic version and Haley is singing it live and oh my goodness! This song just shows how pretty her voice is. It's such a raw song and I love it! My favorite on the album. Glad they are back! :D

Have a song you are listening to over and over? Let me know in the comments! :)

I first heard of Intangible by J. Meyers when she contacted me wondering if I would review her book. I agreed because her book sounded really interesting and I ended up loving it! Same goes to show for Imaginable the second book in this awesome series. I think I might have even loved it and the characters even more in the sequel!

Summary from Goodreads:

Twins Sera and Luke Raine’s unusual abilities are growing. Sera is healing vampires now, making them human again. And, at times, Luke can actually change the future he Sees.

But Sera’s healing has dangerous consequences, and though Luke is altering the outcome of more visions, he can’t control them yet.

Now Sera is in danger as the dark creatures of the Realm seek to use her. As Luke struggles to master his gift in order to save his sister, he discovers even more about his powers.

And what he learns just may put him in greater danger than Sera has ever been.

It had been quite a while since I read Intangible the first book in this series by J. Meyers but it didn't take me long before everything came back to me and I was thankful for that. I don't think I would have been confused if I hadn't remembered everything but I just felt because I could remember events that took place from the first book it made my reading experience better.

Sera and Luke. I love these twins. And I love them even more when they are together because the things they say to each other is so funny. They care so much about each other but I love how they can tease each other too. But if I had to chose who's perspective to see more of it would be Luke. There is just something about this character that I adore. And there was quite a bit of Luke perspective and I ate it up! I just love him and his humor. Even when he's under pressure and going out of his mind some of the things Luke would think would crack me up.

"He looked over at them. He probably should have been on guard, as well, as soon as the door gave way. That would have been smarter than just huffing and puffing. He breathed hard. Maybe next time."

Jonas. Man did I love him in Intangible and instantly my love for this character grew with each turn of the page. He's just amazing and I love how one second he can go from badass to so affectionate. I also really loved that he was the only one who didn't sugar coat things. Even to himself he was honest but I loved how honest he was with Sera and everyone else. It made me love him ten times more. I really really hope that things progress with him and Sera further because holy moly!! Jera anyone? See I've already made them a nickname. They are meant to be. ;)

There was an addition of newbies in this book and I really liked their role in the story. Raquel cracked me up. At first I wasn't sure if I would like her but her gift came in handy and was often amusing to me.  Honestly this book is full of so many amazing and well developed and fleshed characters. The dialogue between everyone was so smooth and natural. That was my favorite thing about this book was how natural the dialogue was. It felt real and I enjoyed that so much!

This book was pretty fast passed. It took off into the story and chaos quickly and there was never a moment of pause. I really liked how things progressed in this one because it wasn't anything I ever expected. Even to how it ends. I love it when a book takes a turn I never expected! And this one definitely did. I'm really excited to see more of the romances develop and everyone's gifts come out full throttle.

Imaginable is a perfect fast paced sequel to Intangible that I think anyone will love. The characters grow and the dialogue is so natural it makes it for a really nice read! I'm giving Imaginable 4 out of 5 birds! I really think everyone needs to check out this series because it is really good and J. Meyers writing is very captivating.

~~Thanks J. Meyers for a copy of this book!~~

Random Ramblings

It wont be the first time on here that I've mentioned I was a vegetarian. I've talked openly about it and the frustrations that come along with it. People just don't seem to understand it and you get this look. You get asked the same questions. The look soon follows after as they don't seem to understand it even after you've explained.

Yesterday I saw something that has me thinking more about things. I am in no way meaning to sound like people who eat meat are mean ole butt heads because then that would mean I think my best friend is a mean ole butt head and she isn't. I love her to death and she eats meat. But what I love even more about her is she never not once questioned why I stopped eating meat in the first place. She just accepted and it was like "That's cool yo. I like hamburgers to much to stop eating meat." But today I'm not going to ramble about that but rather ramble about something else.

I just wanted to make it clear what ever I type next isn't meant to offend or anything. I'm just rambling...like usual.

Ohtay? Ohtay.

This is what has been running through my head since yesterday: How can people knowing what they know still eat meat? Is it just because they are stronger and can accept the "circle of life" or does it make me stronger for choosing to cut meat out of my diet?

I don't know. Maybe the answer is both. But I recently was looking around PETA's site and I saw a really horrific video. I've stayed clear of those because I've heard how horrible they are and I don't want to see them. Just thinking about it and hearing about how bad they are was enough to make me stop eating meat. And the fact is I just I love animals to much and see them as family and friends and as Bruce from Finding Nemo says.... "Fish are Friends, not food." But...I watched that video and now I'm scared for life.

Within those 60 seconds of that video that showed exactly what happened to those animals who were getting slaughtered I was crying. I'm that person who gets more sad when a animal dies in a movie than the person. Is that a bad thing? Maybe. Maybe not. It's just me. And seeing that video--just now thinking about it as I type this has me filled with a horrible gut wrenching feeling. After stepping away from my computer and getting myself composed---because lets face it people I was bawling. Not just sniffle sniffle that's sad. Full out ugly crying. I got to thinking. How can someone watch a video like that and still be able to eat a hamburger?

Maybe it simply does just boil down to simply accepting how life is. I openly tell my little sister that hey you know that hotdog is a little piggy despite my moms look that says Please don't traumatize your sister... But it doesn't bother her. She's like "Yeah I know." She's very literal and at seven it doesn't bother her. She just accepts life for what it is. Me? I obviously can't do that. But it makes me wonder how can all these people just shrug and be like "Life is life." Haven't they ever looked into a dog's face and seen a twinkle in their eyes? Or embraced a horse and thought "You're my best friend?" What makes it okay to slaughter them when they themselves speak their own language? Because the hard truth is not just pigs and cows get slaughtered so do dogs and horses and so many other animals.

You just have to stop and listen in a way you might not be used to. I don't know. I'm really really upset and I'm just trying to understand how some people can watch something that horrific and not want to do something about it. Because I do. I want to yell very loudly at the people who work in those slaughter houses. How can they do that? How can they go to work everyday and kill those animals seeing how terrified they are?

The same stands for people who abuse animals. I'm really into horses and a friends shared a picture of a horse up for auction and it got me looking into all the other horses that are being auctioned and...some of those pictures are horrible. What makes it okay to just get rid of a horse to an auction house because it's no use to you anymore? Haven't you heard of friendship? You pretty much just sent your horse to slaughter. But who cares right? It's just a horse. It doesn't have feelings or thoughts of its own. Oh, I guess my horse (Fury) isn't thinking for himself when he decides "Hell no were going left not right!" Or how about when Fury has a middle heartache everytime his pal Darty is gone for to long. He's just screaming his head off for no reason of course. No. He has thoughts. He has feelings. He makes them clear ever single time I see him.

Some days I get a look like this that warms my heart.

Other days I get a horse who just knows he's going to get ridden so decides he's gonna plant his feet and not move a muscle. Because hey! It's fun to be barn sour. Or hey! It's fun to stand in a field for an hour with a stubborn horse. Yep. That sounds like a stupid animal to me.

Phew. Okay. Sorry. I went from horribly sad to in a rage. But can you blame me though? All I got to say now is animals have feelings too. Anyone who has pets or is around horses or any other farm animal knows this is true. They have personalities of their own and the longer your around them the quicker they come out.  Eat meat or don't eat meat it's up to you. In no way am I try to persuade anyone to stop eating meat I'm just rambling all the thoughts swimming in my brain right now. It doesn't make you a horrible person either way it's just a life choice. And I am just one of those people who was raised around animals and love them to much to eat them.

Song Of The Week

Recently I started using Pandora on my cell phone and I've been listening to First Aid Kit radio and Contemporary Folk radio stations and I'm addicted to them. They keep playing all of these songs that I keep adding to my I-tunes wishlist..and well needless to say I have more than one song that's been stuck in my head this week.

Broken Chair by Chris and Thomas:

Until Pandora I had never heard of these guys but I love this song and I really like their sound so I have no doubt I'm gonna like the rest of their music as well! This song in particular of theirs has been on replay. I just love it!

Love Vigilantes by Iron and Wine:

Iron and Wine is a band I have been familiar with ever since Twilight first came out. I fell in love with their song Flightless Bird & American Mouth. It made me cry the first time I heard it. There is just something about this bands music that makes me emotional. Don't know why...but at least with this one I didn't cry. Even so I never really looked into their music other than two songs I love now being three adding this one to the list. I really need to just take a day and really listen to all their songs. :)

I could keep adding more songs but I'll just keep it at these two for this week! Do you have a song stuck in your head? Let me know in the comments! :)

Dead Silence Blog Tour: Review

Today I'll be sharing my review with you guys for Dead Silence as well as a small teaser by Kimberly Derting which will be released on April 13th! I really adore this series so I'm thrilled to be apart of the Dead Silence blog tour being hosted by Candace's Book Blog!

I don't recommend reading this review if you are not familiar with this series. There may be some spoilers for previous books.

I have been a fan of this series from book one. I've loved each book and with how the last one was--incredibly creepy and addicting--I couldn't wait to get my hands on Dead Silence. And now that I've read it and loved it...I can't believe this series is over.

Summary from Goodreads:

Violet thought she’d made peace with her unique ability to sense the echoes of the dead and the imprints that cling to their killers…that is until she acquired an imprint of her own. Forced to carry a reminder of the horrible events of her kidnapping, Violet is more determined than ever to lead a normal life. However, the people who run the special investigative team Violet works for have no intention of letting her go.

When someone close to Violet becomes a suspect in a horrific murder, she finds herself pulled into a deadly hunt for a madman with an army of devoted followers. Violet has survived dangerous situations before, but she quickly discovers that protecting those closest to her is far more difficult than protecting herself.

Violet being Violet stumbles across some bodies and of course she soon finds herself tangled up in a mess of things as they try and figure out why these people were murdered in the first place.

I'm still a bit hung up about how this book ended knowing that this is intended to be the last book. One, there has to be more and two, there has to be more! It can't end like that! Oy. I'll talk more about the ending in a bit.

Violet isn't like herself throughout half of this book. She doesn't really start acting like herself again until about the 180 page mark. Considering the events that took place in The Last Echo this is totally understandable. She went through some serious stuff. I really loved how she dealt with things and when she was finally becoming Violet again she was becoming a more badass version. She was toughening up and she wasn't gonna hold back on things anymore. I loved that about her character development! I felt like though she never really was ashamed of her talent she was finally fully accepting it for what it was and it's presence in her life.

Jay, oh Jay. My affection for this character dimmed a bit in the last book because of the certain presence of another character *cough* Rafe *cough* Well, despite my sorta-kinda-maybe-possibly switching teams Jay shines in this book reminding me why I loved him so much in the first place. Like as with Violet, Jay really grew as a character in Dead Silence. The only way I feel I can put it is he became a man. Not that he isn't still silly and romantic and teasing Jay because he was but I felt he grew up a lot in this book.

Just because Jay had my heart fluttering like in the very first book doesn't mean Rafe was pushed to the side...because he wasn't. Not one bit. I secretly was hoping there would have been more explored with Rafe and Violet. Dare I say it. But it's true. I really loved Rafe and his loner self. Throughout the book I kept sort of wishing that Violet would just admit she liked Rafe in that way...but then something happened. I can't say what but I like what Kimberly Derting did with Rafe and Violet. It felt right the way things turned out with them.

As per usual we get glimpses into the killers head and compared to the last book this one wasn't as creepy. I am pleased and disappointed about this at the same time. Pleased because the creep level in The Last Echo was at full blast and it really freaked me out at times! Disappointing because I kind of wanted that creepy feeling back because it kept me so engaged. Even without the creepy factor that was at full blast in The Last Echo this book was still fantastic and I enjoyed getting insight into the killer. I always loved that about this series it made it unique and something to look forward to. It always allowed me to see why they were doing the things they were doing and that always brought something great to this series!

Okay, back to that ending. Whoa can I just say it again that Violet turned badass? That ending was great and I loved it but it left me with so many questions. It left me wondering if this is really the last book. Possibly a spin off with a different narration from a certain character? I just have a hunch there will be more. Or maybe this is just me not wanting to let go of these characters.

Dead Silence was a fantastic read and I loved how things turned out for many of the characters in this book but I still can't believe that is how the series ended. It just can't be! Nonetheless I really enjoyed this book and it's getting 4.5 out of 5 birds from me! I never expected this was the way the series would go but it took a direction that was so intriguing and unexpected! I definitely think a lot of people will love the conclusion to the series and desperately wish there was more to come. I'd recommend this series to anyone who loves a thrilling, romantic, and heart pounding read! Here's a teaser of some of the awesome that is Dead Silence...

"Oh, and you did great down there," Rafe interrupted. "You practically made a pass at the bouncer." "What?" Violet sputtered, as Jay raised an eyebrow at her, begging for an explanation. "I did not! I was just being friendly. Besides, he seemed...nice." Jay just shook his head as Rafe shot back. "Yeah, I'm sure he was thinking the same thing about you. Such a nice little girl."

Forty Days

I was familiar with Stephenie Parents work as I had read her in verse novel and enjoyed it. So when I had the chance to review her new book Forty Days I totally took the chance and I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed this one!

Summary from Goodreads:

The entire village knows Neima’s grandfather is a madman. For years the old man has prophesied that a great flood is coming, a flood disastrous enough to blot out the entire earth. He’s even built an enormous ark that he claims will allow his family to survive the deluge. But no one believes the ravings of a lunatic…

…until the rain starts. And doesn’t stop. Soon sixteen-year-old Neima finds her entire world transformed, her life and those of the people she loves in peril. Trapped on the ark with her grandfather Noah, the rest of her family, and a noisy, filthy, and hungry assortment of wild animals, will Neima find a way to survive?

With lions, tigers, and bears oh my, elephants and flamingos too, along with rivalries and betrayals, a mysterious stowaway, and perhaps even an unexpected romance, FORTY DAYS is not your grandfather’s Noah’s Ark story

Forty Days is an interesting take on Noah's Ark and I really enjoyed it. I was a bit hesitant because of it being a religious story and sometimes those feel a bit pushy but this one wasn't at all. And though it was based on something religious I really didn't feel like it was solely focused on religion. Yes, it's about Noah's Ark but it was also about Nemia and how she and everyone else on the ark handled pretty much the end of the world. I really liked that about this book.

Nemia was a character who I found to like. She knew how to take care of herself and I really loved how she cared for the animals on the ark. I found I could relate to the way she constantly felt an attachment to certain animals and would give them names. That was so something I would do. And I would definitely get attached to the elephants like Nemia did.

Jorin is a character who I really liked and knew I'd like the moment he appeared in the book. He was just that type of guy that I loved. It was pretty obvious that he liked Nemia but she was oblivious of that fact. There wasn't as much of Jorin as I would have liked but I hope there is plenty more of him in the next one!

Stephenie Parent's writing really shines in this book. I feel like even though her in verse writing is beautiful her writing is even better in this book. From the very first line her writing is very vivid and easy to fall into. The only thing was I felt at certain points the book was a bit slow but not so slow I wanted to stop reading.

This is a pretty short book and it's easy to go through it quickly and the way it ends is such a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what happens next! I really really hope that it a certain something doesn't happen. If anything happens to a certain character I am gonna be so sad!

Forty Days is a really quick and easy read. You instantly get caught up in the chaos that is the flood and what it's like to be trapped inside an ark full of animals. Forty Days is getting 4 out of 5 birds from me! Anyone who reads this book will be eager for the next one to come out.

~~Thanks to Stephenie Parent for a copy of this book!~~

With All My Soul

There are some books that you just adore so much that the thought of them ending is heartbreaking! I was so sad about having the Soul Screamers series end but after reading the book I'm not as sad. Rachel Vincent ended this series perfectly.

I don't recommend reading this review if you haven't read the previous books as there will be a few spoilers from previous books in this fantastic series.

Summary from Goodreads:

What does it mean when your school is voted the most dangerous in America? It's time to kick some hellion butt...

After not really surviving her junior year (does "undead" count as survival?), Kaylee Cavanaugh has vowed to take back her school from the hellions causing all the trouble. She's going to find a way to turn the incarnations of Avarice, Envy and Vanity against one another in order to protect her friends and finish this war, once and forever.

But then she meets Wrath and understands that she's closer to the edge than she's ever been. And when one more person close to her is taken, Kaylee realizes she can't save everyone she loves without risking everything she has

With All My Soul picks up pretty much right where Before I Wake ended. Kaylee and all her friends are dealing with hellions and the Netherworld what's new? Just some obsessed hellion wanting to devour Kaylee. No biggie. Except this time around Avari is done waiting. He wants Kaylee now and he has every intention of getting her.

This series has been one that has just gotten better and better with each book and that's always something to be happy about because sometimes that isn't the case with certain book series. It's the case with Soul Screamers that's for sure. Rachel Vincent's writing is just marvelous. The world she has created in this series is so easy to picture and I found with this last book it was even easier to picture. Once you start reading something by Rachel Vincent it's just effortless. You so easily fall into the words on the page and before you know it you're done and your mind is blown.

Kaylee Cavanaugh is just awesome. To read My Soul To Take the very first book in this series and then jump to this book she is so different. She's different in the best possible way. She went from oblivious to submerged into life changing chaos. She went from being timid and not the toughest chick in school to this outspoken and strong kick-ass character. She's grown so much and she turned out to be one of my favorite female characters. Kaylee is one of the most selfless characters out there and what she does in this book had my gut hurting! But it just made me love her even more because she wouldn't have been Kaylee if she didn't do what she did.

Tod Hudson... *sigh* I could sit here all day and pull out all my favorite things that Tod said or did in this book. But that would take a while. It would be pretty much EVERYTHING Tod did or said. Who would have thought the snarky reaper from My Soul To Take would have me head over heels? He just came out of know where and then BAM! I was all about Tod Hudson. I mean how could you not be? He's snarky, witty, inappropriate, has a twisted sense of humor, caring, loyal as hell, and just the sweetest reaper on the block. I am going to miss Tod Hudson so much.

Nash hasn't been my favorite character for a while in this series and he even started to be disliked even more then Sabine who I hated so much from the moment she appeared in this series. And the dislike for Nash isn't as strong in this book but I couldn't help but still not like him. I didn't really hate him because lets face it even with everything you can't really hate Nash Hudson. But the dude can drive you nuts. He seemed so whiny to me throughout this book and a lot of the time I just wanted to shake him and tell him to stop being such a whiny pain in the butt. Closer towards the end of the book was when I finally wanted to just pat him on the back and be like "Now you see, took you long enough dude." All things considered Nash isn't such a bad guy.

Sabine of all characters is the one that has surprised me the most. When...when did I start to like her? As with Tod she kind of just sneaks up and you and one minute you hate her with a fiery passion and then next your laughing at all the stuff she says and you panic when you think something bad is gonna happen to her. Sabine, Sabine, Sabine you sneaky little mara. Sabine is still Sabine in this book but she's a better version--something I never thought I would think but it's true. I really love this snarky nightmare.

I could keep talking about all the wonderful characters in this series but I'm gonna stop because this review will end up longer than it probably ever should be but there is one more I need to discuss. Ira. I have mixed feelings about this hellion because one I didn't hate the dude when I probably should have and two he just came out of no where! Ira is a bad dude, he's a hellion of wrath! But even so each time he popped up I couldn't find myself to really hate him. Is that wrong? Yep. But do I still kind of like this hellion of wrath? Yep. Gotta love the bad guys that you hate to love. That's all I'm gonna say.

A lot of stuff happens in this book and with each turn of the page things just got more amped up and amped up until things just erupted. The things that took place in those final chapters had me so sad for a lot of reasons. But I also was happy with those final chapters because this series was ended in the best possible way. There are no loose ends to be seen and I am so thankful for that. Despite being sad with this wonderful series being over all I get is happy when I think about the ending of this book and how wonderful and perfect it was. It's all kind of bittersweet.

With All My Soul is a fast paced end to this series and everyone who is a fan will love this ending. It's just to perfect not to love. With All My Soul is getting 5 out of 5 birds. It was so so good and I just want to give out these books to total strangers so more and more people will fall in love with these books and the characters. Everyone read these books! I don't think anyone in there right mind could dislike them there is just too much to like!

Song Of The Week

There wasn't a Song Of The Week post last week but this week I have a song I can't get out of my head! It's a band from Ireland that I absolutely love. Hope you like the song too! :)

Nothing Arrived by Villagers:

I just really love this song! The lyrics are stuck in my head I found myself humming it while I was cleaning the barn this week haha! It's just my type of song and I can't get enough of it! I'm glad I found this band. Might just feature another of their songs next week. We shall see...;)

Have a song stuck in your head? Let me know in the comments! :)

Random Ramblings

I wouldn't be me if I didn't have random thoughts in my head and recently I keep thinking about all these bookmarks I have and how I only use one of them out of all the awesome and pretty bookmarks. Before I got into blogging and started to win and receive bookmarks and other swag I never really used bookmarks. I never had any that were cool enough to use I guess. Which sounds weird but it's so true in my case! Because lets face it we like our bookmarks to look nice along with our books. Or maybe that is just me? I wouldn't be surprised. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to my books.

I never ever doggy ear any of my books I just always used my receipts to mark where I left off. And now a lot of those receipts are still in the books. I have a weird thing where I just don't throw them away. I stick them back in the book for some reason. Maybe so I can remember the day I got them? I don't know. I'm an odd ball when it comes to bookmarks apparently.

You're probably wondering what this bookmark looks like that I always use nowadays and well it's this one.

Possibly it has everything to do with the fact that Ryan Gosling is on it but I have another one with him and Rachel McAdams but I always use this one. Always. I don't know why but I must really love it. I don't have a clue why...but it's always stuck in my books lol.

Well. This seems like a really pointless post now that I have rambled about a bookmark. But, I guess I'll post it anyways and ask this: Do you guys have a bookmark that you find you always use even though you have a bunch of others that are just collecting dust?

As always here's a picture of one of the Mascots.

Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Should Be Reading were you grab a book, open it up, find something that isn't going to spoil the book and share it. You do this twice from any random page just make sure the teasers are not SPOILERS! This week I will be sharing two teasers from With All My Soul by Rachel Vincent!

"Tod laughed. He was always able to find humor in even the creepiest situations. I'd thought that was an undead thing. Then I realized it was a Tod thing." (from pg. 24)

"He stood, and i stood in front of him, as if I could possibly block a reaper's path if he wanted to leave. "No. Tod, wait." I put one hand on his chest, feeling for his heartbeat, but it wasn't there."(from pg. 162)

This series...I just...I can't believe it's ending. I remember when I fist came across this series. Bought the first book and finished it in a day and was back at the bookstore the next day buying the second and third book. Then I had to wait forever for the next books to come out. And now it's almost over! I am so sad to let go of these characters but the book has been so good so far I can already tell it's going to be one heck of an ending. Hope you liked the teasers I picked out! :)

Just Read It! Book Club April Read

Lexi from the The Literature Lion and I are hosting a book club every month and in March we read Dualed by Elsie Chapman, and we were able to hold an interview with the author which was a lot of fun! You can learn more about our book club at our introductions posts here and here. They are both the same post so either one will fill you in on the fun stuff we'll be doing! :)

It's the first week of April so means that we have a new book to read this month! It was a tie on the poll so Lexi and I tweeted out a question about the books to help us pick out of the three books that were tied.

Poison by Bridget Zinn is our April Read this month!

Sixteen-year-old Kyra, a highly-skilled potions master, is the only one who knows her kingdom is on the verge of destruction—which means she’s the only one who can save it. Faced with no other choice, Kyra decides to do what she does best: poison the kingdom’s future ruler, who also happens to be her former best friend.

But, for the first time ever, her poisoned dart . . . misses.

Now a fugitive instead of a hero, Kyra is caught in a game of hide-and-seek with the king’s army and her potioner ex-boyfriend, Hal. At least she’s not alone. She’s armed with her vital potions, a too-cute pig, and Fred, the charming adventurer she can’t stop thinking about. Kyra is determined to get herself a second chance (at murder), but will she be able to find and defeat the princess before Hal and the army find her? Kyra is not your typical murderer, and she’s certainly no damsel-in-distress—she’s the lovable and quick-witted hero of this romantic novel that has all the right ingredients to make teen girls swoon.

Now that we've released the book title, it's your job to go and read it within the next three weeks! Then you can follow this schedule for the rest of the month:

April 12: Discussion questions posted The Literature Lion & Novel Nerd
April 25: Literature Lion & Novel Nerd post their responses to the discussion question + Linky
April 27: Giveaway of Poison on Literature Lion & Novel Nerd
April 25 - 30: Post your responses to the discussion questions on your blog and comment on others!

If you're participating in the book club, feel free to put some of these on your sidebar!

Now it's your turn to keep reading!
