I am a huge fan of Laurie Faria Stolarz and today the cover for Deadly Little Lessons has been revealed! I got so excited when I saw the cover because I love this series and I just love anything from Laurie Faria Stolarz and I must say I love the new cover.

I love the fact that everything is blurry. From her hand being a smudge to the background not being very clear. Every single cover in this series is eerie and this one doesn't fail to do it again! You have to wonder what makes her look over so fast to make her hair flip like that. I mean seriously! I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this series covers. Here are all the covers one by one for your viewing...and maybe mine a little bit too. :)

So guys what are your thoughts on the new cover? We all know I love it!

I was very excited for the release of Unearthly by Cynthia Hand. It just sounded so awesome and I had to have it right away. I never bought it right away for some reason and when I finally did buy it I put off reading it for so long. I'm not exactly sure why I did this but I did until I finally just picked it up and started reading. I am so glad I finally read this book, after so long of putting it off.

Summary from Goodreads:

In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .

Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.

Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.

As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

Unearthly starts off with a really strong opening it's what drew me into wanting to read this book in the first place. Since what I only knew about this book was what was on the back-that being the amazing prologue-I really didn't know anything about this book. I knew that it involved angles but I never realized that the main character knew she was an angel so that was a surprise when I started reading this book. Clara is aware that she is an angel and instantly the story starts of with her purpose coming to her and needing to find this mysterious boy so they move to Wyoming where this mysterious boy is. While I read this book I was unsure, but yet at the same time so invested into the story.

Instantly I loved Clara. She's a really great character who's relationship with her mom is great and I really loved that about this book. I have a really great relationship with my mom so it's nice when you read a book and the main character isn't all "I hate you!" towards her mom. Though there relationship does have a few bumps in the rode it's to be expected considering everything. There are some books when the parents are around its just blah but with Clara's mom it wasn't that way at all. I really liked her and she really made the book great.

I loved being in Clara's head because she has such a great personalty and humor to her that it was just easy to get sucked in to her life. There is one part in the book in particular that I loved which ends up being the result of Clara's hair turning out orange. I found it really funny and just the way Clara handled it made me laugh. Really she's just a fabulous character who's story I really enjoyed reading!

Tucker Avery or Christian Prescott? That's easy! I was Team Tucker the moment he was brought into the book. What can I say? I dig cowboys. ;) Sure Tucker wasn't introduced the way Christian was all dreamy and slow mow style, but Tucker all the way hands down! I find it hilarious how different the two were introduced into the book. It's perfect actually because each is so different from each other. Don't get me wrong though I do like Christian, he's charming and all but he's just no Tucker Avery. <3

Wendy Avery, Tucker's twin sister is one of my favorite characters in this book and though I understand why Clara was so into hanging out with Angela I felt like she was treating Wendy a bit badly in the beginning. That changed of course but still I hate that she was sort of just pushing Wendy aside for those couple chapters. Which brings me to talking about Angela. I wasn't really surprised when we found out what we found out about Angela. All the signs and little hints were there. As I was reading Unearthly I never felt like I trusted Angela. I just felt like she was up to know good through  out. She just really had me pay close attention when she was around in the book because of that. Wendy on the other hand I felt was the greatest friend ever. She's so sweet and I would love to have her as a best friend any day!

I was really surprised by how this book ended. It wasn't what I expected, any of it. Like the thing with Christian. Never saw that coming. Even though I didn't see any of what happening coming its why I loved it so much. The only thing I didn't like about the ending is how I just get this sense that soon were gonna have a love triangle. And if this happens I am going to be devastated. Tucker and Carrots forever!

Cynthia Hands writing is amazing. You get so caught up in the world she has created and the characters she has developed so well that it's impossible not to fall in love. I don't regret not reading this book sooner because now I get to go buy book two and not have to go through a tortures wait to read more about Clara and Tucker. I'm totally picking up book two ASAP! I just can't wait to find out what happens next. Unearthly is getting 5 out of 5 stars from me. It was a beautiful story that you are just crazy not to pick up and read! Believe me when I say you want to read this book and fall in love with Tucker. He's the sexiest cowboy ever.

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking The Spine were you spotlight a book that hasn't come out yet but you are dying to read. My Waiting on Wednesday pick this week is...

The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa:

Summary from Goodreads:

You will kill. The only question is when.

In the dark days since the insidious Red Lung virus decimated the human population, vampires have risen to rule the crumbling cities and suburbs. Uncontested Princes hold sway over diminished ranks of humans: their "pets." In exchange for their labor, loyalty and of course, their blood, these pets are registered, given food and shelter, permitted to survive.

Unregistered humans cling to fringes, scavenging for survival. Allison Sekemoto and her fellow Unregistereds are hunted, not only by vampires, but by rabids, the unholy result of Red Lung-infected vampires feeding on unwary humans. One night, Allie is attacked by a pack of rabids, saved by an unlikely hero...and turned vampire.

Uncomfortable in her undead skin, Allie falls in with a ragtag crew of humans seeking a cure, or cures: for Rabidism and for Vampirism. She's passing for human...for now. But the hunger is growing and will not be denied. Not for friendship—not even for love.

This book sounds so good and so different than most vampire books. I am a sucker for vampire books and this one just sounds so amazing and not to mention that cover is amazing and very, very intriguing.  I would probably read this book based on the cover alone. I can't wait for this book to come out on April 24th of 2012!! What book are you waiting on this Wednesday?

Feb 21, 2012

Have you seen this?

I've been a fan of Zac Efron ever since I saw him on one of my favorite shows Summerland. I've loved pretty much everything he's been in since then, he's just so talented. I liked his voice and all to when he was in the High School Musical movies but I always wandered what he sounded like when it wasn't prerecorded stuff. And um guys he sounds pretty fantastic! Not only is he hot but he can also sing really good. I am indeed swooning over here as I listen to this over and over again just to hear him sing.

He also can make up lyrics on the fly. Am I the only one loving him even more after this? And he and Taylor sound pretty awesome together. What do you guys think? I know this is a pretty random blog post but I had to share it with you guys and find out what you guys thought. Let me know in the comments! :)

""Hey, Carrots," he says suddenly. I turn back to him. "You and I will probably get a long better if you sop calling me that."" (from pg 247)

"I start to turn back into the house. Tucker doesn't move. I glance at him anxiously. He's waiting for something. "What, you want a tip?" I ask." (from pg 274)

This book has been so good and I can't wait to finish it and see what happens! Everyone needs to read this book it's so good. Also can you tell I like Tucker? I shared two teasers involving him. So I hope you guys liked the two teasers! Make sure to read Unearthly if you haven't already, I know I sure am loving it and a certain cowboy.

Tag Your It

Yesterday I was tagged by my blogger friend Jessirae! She rocks by the way so you should check out her blog ASAP! Thanks for tagging me Jessirae! :)

The Rules:

1. You must post the rules.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged.
3. Tag eleven people and link to them on your post.
4. Let them know you’ve tagged them!

Questions from Jessirae:

1. What is your all time favorite book, one that you could read over and over again?

Hmm, that's a hard one. I have so many favorite books but one that I could read over and over again would be The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen the binding on this book is getting so worn out! I'm such a freak with my books and hate the littlest imperfections so I'll probably be buying another copy in the near future lol. Trust me I know how OCD I sound.  xD Twilight saga would be a close second since I love that series and it's the reason I love to read so much.

2. What usually draws you to a book besides the cover?

First thing that always catches my eye is the cover. Always. But usually what draws me in if it's not the cover is a really fantastic summary of the book that makes me think HOLY CRAP I NEED THIS BOOK NOW! And yeah in my head my voice is in all caps lol.

3. If you could live in any book, which would it be and why?

Holy crap I can only pick one book to live in? Yikes! Well lets see probably Vampire Academy. Getting to see Dimitri twenty four seven wouldn't be to shabby. Also just everything about this world is so awesome. Defiantly VA!

4. If you could only pick ONE book boyfriend, who would it be and why?

Again with the ONE can't I have them all?!? LOL! Well this is just impossible to answer, but if I had to just pick one I would go with...Tod Hudson from Soul Screamers.

5. What is one 2012 newly released book that you would recommend to someone wanting to read YA?

Crap I am so behind on my TBR pile I don't even know if I have read a new 2012 book. I blame school for this. I've heard some really greats things about Wings of the Wicked and since book one was so amazing I'd say go buy that one and read it! I have that one waiting to be read on my shelf. Just need to get around to reading it...

6. Top 5 authors you would love to meet?

1. Sarah Dessen.
2. Rachel Vincent.
3. Kelley Armstrong.
4. Cassandra Clare.
5. Courtney Allison Moulton

7. What is your favorite book to movie adaptation?

Breaking Dawn Part 1 was amazing! Also I Am Number Four blew my mind! Both movies were so awesome. If you haven't seen them you must!

8. Do you ever read ahead?

I get lots of urges to do, but never do because then I would kick myself in the butt for ruining it. I like to be surprised when it comes to books.

9. Top 5 places you would love to travel to?

Ireland, Scotland, England, Rome, Paris

10. What is the one quote from a book that immediately pops into your mind and why?

Anytime I think of a quote from a book this instantly pops into my head because it was such a hilarious moment that made me really fall for a character who originally I never really was to keen on.

“Yeah? Can you draw a skeleton riding a motorcycle with flames coming out of it? And I want a pirate hat on the skeleton. And a parrot on his shoulder. A skeleton parrot. Or maybe a ninja skeleton parrot? No, that would be overkill. But it'd be cool if the biker skeleton could be shooting some ninja throwing stars. That are on fire.” -Adrian from Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

I giggle and grin anytime I read it or think about it. Oh Adrian.

11. Who is your favorite book antagonist and why?

My favorite book antagonist? No one comes to mind. Hmm, I guess I'll go with Victoria from Twilight Saga.

Tag Your it!:

Danielle @ Known To Read.

Amanda @ Book Love 101

Christa @ Hooked On Books

My Questions:

1. Who is your favorite protagonist when it comes to book series?
2. If you could live inside one book what book would it be and why?
3. Who is your favorite author and why?
4. If you had to cast the people who would play in a movie adaption of your favorite book who would you chose and why?
5. If your house was on fire what would be the first book you would grab?
6. Twilight Saga or Vampire Academy?
7. Team Edward or Team Jacob?
8. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you be living?
9.What is your favorite movie adaption?
10. Out of all your book boyfriends who would you chose to be your boyfriend in real life?
11. If you could be best friends with any character from a book who would you chose?

Song of The Week

It's Friday so you know what that means! Last Friday there wasn't a Song of the week due to a blog tour post. If you haven't seen the interview I did with the author you can find it in the Blog Archive on the side. :) This week the song I can't stop replaying is a song with no lyrics in it what so ever. It's composed by Carter Burwell and it is just brilliant and beautiful! If you have seen Breaking Dawn Part 1 then you may know the song. Hope you like it as much as I do!

I have had this song on constant replay and its actually playing on my I-tunes as I type this. I'm a bit obsessed but you can't blame me can you? It's just so gorgeous! If they would have added the howling like from the movie it would have just made it ten times better! Carter Burwell is a genius guys! I mean listen to this song. I. Cant. Stop. Hitting. Replay! <3

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking The Spine were you spotlight a book that hasn't come out yet but you are dying to read. My Waiting on Wednesday pick this week is...

The Sweetest Spell by Suzanne Selfors

 Summary from Goodreads:

Emmeline Thistle has always had a mysterious bond with cows, beginning on the night of her birth, when the local bovines saved the infant cast aside to die in the forest. But Emmeline was unaware that this bond has also given her a magical ability to transform milk into chocolate, a very valuable gift in a kingdom where chocolate is more rare and more precious than gold or jewels. Then one day Owen Oak, a dairyman’s son, teaches Emmeline to churn milk into butter – and instead she creates a delicious chocolate confection that immediately makes her a target for every greedy, power-hungry person in the kingdom of Anglund. Only Owen loves Emmeline for who she truly is, not her magical skill. But is his love enough to save her from the danger all around her?

This book sounds really interesting to me to have the power to just make chocolate on demand? That sounds so cool! And of course there is romance in this book which you can just tell by the summary. I defiantly can't wait to read this one when it comes out August 21st of 2012. What book are you waiting to be released?
