Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Breaking The Spine which spotlights books that aren't out yet but we are dying to read. Stalking the little widget that counts down the days kind of dying to read. My Waiting  on Wednesday pick this week is...

This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers

It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self. To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up.

As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live. But as the days crawl by, everyone’s motivations to survive begin to change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life–and death–inside. When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?

I want to start of by saying I am not one that gets excited over Zombie books or movies but I gotta tell you the moment I heard of this one I wanted to read it. This is Not a Test comes out June 19th, 2012. I need this book now! Look at that cover! Read that description! Pout because its not out yet! Stalk that widget! Is there a widget for This is Not a Test? I don't think I have seen one anywhere. But you get my point, this is defiantly a Waiting On Wednesday pick. Courtney Summers may just be the author that gets me into Zombie books.

Whats your Waiting on Wednesday pick?

Nov 29, 2011

I went into Num8ers only really knowing that Jem, the main character, saw someones numbers when she looked at them. Those numbers being the date of when they would die. Sounded like such a good book that I had to pick it up after so long of wanting to read it.

Summary from Amazon:

Countdown to a blowup! A gripping debut psycho-thriller that pairs futuristic sci-fi with frighteningly real themes of global terrorism!

Ever since she was child, Jem has kept a secret: Whenever she meets someone new, no matter who, as soon as she looks into their eyes, a number pops into her head. That number is a date: the date they will die. Burdened with such awful awareness, Jem avoids relationships. Until she meets Spider, another outsider, and takes a chance. The two plan a trip to the city. But while waiting to ride the Eye ferris wheel, Jem is terrified to see that all the other tourists in line flash the same number. Today's number. Today's date. Terrorists are going to attack London. Jem's world is about to explode!

I was a little surprised to find out that the book was set in London, somewhere I would so love to see someday. Shouldn't have been thou right since it so specifically states above the book is set in London. But the thing is I only read what was on the back of the book one day and that was all it took. I wanted to read it. I should have opened the book and read the flap. I know, I know but I was already too interested! And maybe it was good to have a few surprises thrown at me. But let me just say I had a hard time reading this book. I kept getting tripped up by the usage of one simple word-mum. Its like my brain just paused and thought well that doesn't sound right and I would have to reread it and hear mom instead. I honestly don't know why this kept happening but it totally annoyed me and made my reading process so much slower than it usually is.

As I read Numbers I just kept thinking please get better I really want you to get better! I had high hopes for this book from the start and it was just so slow and I couldn't find myself liking any of the characters at all. Not even Jem or Spider. To be truthful they kind of annoyed me. Chapter 8 came around and I got a little spark of intrigue but then it just died. I'm not exactly sure what it was about Rachel Wards writing but this book just wasn't for me.

I think what has disappointed me the most about this book is that the excitement I had for it only for that bubble to get burst. The book started off good too from the very first line and then all of a sudden it was just not something I could get into. I don't like writing bad reviews and this will be my first but I don't want people to read this and then think well if she didn't like it why should I even give it a try? Don't do that please. Just because I didn't like it doesn't mean you won't. That being said I will be honest and say I didn't even make it through the whole book. I got to page 92 of 325. I don't usually stop reading a book even if at first it won't keep my attention but unfortunately this one I just couldn't keep going. I'm giving Numbers 1 out of 5 stars. Keep in mind though I may write another review for this book in the near future. This book will sit on my shelf to be completed one day and I may love it or I may like, now not be able to get in to it. I'll keep my mind open to any possibility.

Cover Reveal

Today Nova Ren Suma reveled the new cover for Dani Noir which is now called Fade Out. I haven't yet read this book but will defiantly be adding it to my TBR list.

I really like the new cover its simple and pretty and you really don't get any hints of what the book could be about.

I like the old cover as well, but I don't think I would have picked it up like I would if I saw the new cover. What do you guys think do you like the old one better or the new one better?

As well as Brave New Love: 15 Dystopian Tales of Desire cover was reveled and I must say it is GORGEOUS!

I love how the black is creeping up her shoulder like it might possibly devour her. And the blue water leading to that building that appears to be on fire. This cover rocks! What do you guys think?

In My Mailbox #2

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren and its all about books you have bought or received.

Today I bought three books and those being Sweetheart by Sara Zarr, Sleepless by Cyn Balog, and Split by Stefan Petrucha.

Sweethearts I have read and loved and am glad I finally own it. Sleepless has been on my TBR list for a long time so I'm excited I can finally read it. Split I had never heard of before nor had I heard of the author before either. It sounds like a good story and the cover is totally intriguing. I hope I like it! Can't wait to read these three! At the moment I am reading Numbers by Rachel Ward and so far I'm not that into it. I'm hoping that changes fast or I may stop reading it which I never do and have only done with one other book. If not I may have to set it aside for a few days and start something else possibly one of these awesome books perhaps. :)

What did you get in your mailbox today?

Bite Club

I came across the Morganville Vampire series at a library about three years ago. I could not put the book down and when my mom read it she couldn't put the book down. As the series progressed each book just got better and better. Bite Club did not disappoint. It amazes, which at this point I need to just expect the awesomeness that Rachel Caine can create, me each time to because you have to wonder how much more chaos and havoc can Rachel Caine come up with to keep the story good and unique? You have series were you just wish it would have been a stand alone or possibly just a trilogy. This is not one of those series. Bite Club is book 10 in what will be a 15 book series. This is a huge series folks and it still amazes me that Rachel Caine keeps the story so good 10 books in. It just goes to show how much talent Rachel Caine has when it comes to such a hard craft as writing.

 Summary from Amazon:

After discovering that vampires populate her town, college student Claire Danvers knows that the undead just want to live their lives. But someone else wants them to get ready to rumble.

There's a new extreme sport getting picked up on the Internet: bare- knuckle fights pitting captured vampires against each other-or humans. Tracking the remote signal leads Claire- accompanied by her friends and frenemies-to discover that what started as an online brawl will soon threaten everyone in Morganville...

**Some Spoilers! Read at your own risk**

I'm going to start off by saying what I loved most about this book. We get to see inside Shane's head. I can not tell you how much I enjoyed this. I love, love, love Shane and getting to see inside of his head was really cool even if it was seriously dark and sad. Shane has got series problems but getting to hear his point of view on things was a really nice touch to this book. I don't want to give anything away except that I think at this point in the series Rachel made a good decision not letting us see inside of his head until book ten. Thou I will say I was a little bit wanting to slap Shane silly in this book even thou I know he had no chance of fighting off Glory's glamor. His character has been through so much and Shane just gets the bad end of the stick in this book and its a breaking point for him and you really get to see and experience the demons inside of him.

I felt from the start of the book to a couple chapters in Claire's voice was so different from the other books in the series. Of course her voice was different she started off as this fragile girl and turned into this strong person but it wasn't that that had changed. I couldn't put my finger on what it was but there was defiantly something different and I couldn't decide at first if I liked it or hated it. She just seemed so... I don't want to say witchy but there was defiantly something touchy about her voice that had changed from Ghost Town. After a couple chapters thou it went to normal Claire. Did anyone else notice that or was it just me? Thou all she has been through she has every right to be a bit touchy.

As the book got deeper into the story I got sucked in even deeper and could not stop reading no matter how tired I was. When Bishop showed up I honestly did not expect that. At. All. I thought that dude was dead. Apparently not and he is seriously PO'D and out for blood. The whole new gym and the craziness that was going on behind the closed doors really sucked me in. Sure it wasn't that original the fighting being online and all, but Rachel Caine made it seem like it was. And thou I know lots of people say this is there least favorite of the series I thoroughly enjoyed it, every little piece of it. I loved how she brought back some characters from previous books like Bishop and crazy Kim. Speaking of Kim you totally get to see more of her not quite sane side in Bite Club. It was really interesting and I enjoyed it every crazy bit of it.

Since I'm on the topic of crazy people I want to talk a little bit about Myrin who I am seriously becoming fond for. I never thought that would happen but well its happened. Myrin the crazy boss who has a spider named Bob is totally growing on me. At first I was so not crazy about the boss and the crazy layer were things had a tendency to blow up in Claire's face, but I know can not see the books without Myrin and his craziness. Which he's kind of actually becoming maybe just a little bit sane since Ghost Town. Of course I say sane very lightly because Myrin is unpredictable but I think that is was I am starting to love about him. I also just think he's pretty hilarious now.

I love the dialogue in this book so much don't mean to jump from a completely different topic but its so true. The dialogue in this book is just..bloody brilliant. I wish I could come up with the things these characters say on the spot and be as witty as them. Even with all the craziness and sad stuff Rachel Caine can throw in the wittiest and most funny dialogue ever.  I don't think I have ever laughed out loud as much as I have with this series. Eve's dialogue is the best. Eve's and Shane's together is just hilarious. Thou this one lacked Shane's dialogue for many reasons. :( Poor Shane. I felt so bad for him. I had many moments of wanting to kick that Glory vampire girls butt for obvious reasons. She is just so evil and defiantly a word that starts with a B and ends in itch. But she got what she deserved in the end. :)

One thing I was totally shocked about this book was when Eve blurted that she and Micheal would be getting married. I can honestly say I never saw that coming. It will be interesting to see how that goes. Eve and Michel are the cutest so I'm kind of happy about this development thou I would be jumping with joy if it were Shane and Claire. What can I say I'm a hopeless romantic.

**No more spoilers.**

I am giving Bite Club 4 out of 5 stars. I honestly don't understand why so many people say this book was such a disappointment, but I get everyone has their own opinion and mine personally is this one didn't disappointment. I loved it and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Now that I have finished Bite Club I honestly don't think I can wait to read Last Breath like I was planning. See all of the Morganville Vampires series on my shelf are paperback and I'm trying to keep it that way and well it will be difficult. Especially all the things I am hearing about Last Breath and not to mention the book trailer.

Sigh. I just know I am going to break down and end up buying the hardcover and it will probably be well worth it. Except for the excruciating long wait for Black Dawn. Decisions, Decisions.

Nov 25, 2011

Hey guys, so I know today is supposed to be Friday Foreign Editions but I'm really not feeling it. I'm going to try and figure out something else to do on Friday's or it may just be the one day I don't actually blog. I'm undecided. So I shall depart now and go watch Australia with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman in it. I have a bit of a marathon of Hugh Jackman movies going on at the moment. I recently just watched all the X-Men movies for the first time and loved them more than I thought I would. Needless to say I have developed a bit of a crush on this fella..

Have any of you seen Australia? Like it, Love it, Hate it? I will have to report back and let you know if I like it or not.

I so did not attend to start talking about Hugh Jackman. I tend to get off topic and talk about Hollywood hotties don't I...I'm sure you don't mind thou right? :) Like right now I am fighting the urge to talk about this new actor well, new to me anyways that is...really good looking. Your probably curious about who I'm talking about now right? So I have to talk about him now...or so I tell myself haha. Just to spare you from my ramblings I will only supply his name, where I first saw him, a recent movie of his, and a picture and then step away from the computer before I start talking about any other actors I have found I really like. Henry Cavill is the actor and he is from Triston & Isodel which is were I first saw him and now he is in that movie Immortals.

Handsome right? Stepping away now..

One more thing before I go there should be a review for Bite Club by Rachel Caine up sometime tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled for it! :)

Cover Reveal

Rachel Vincent revealed the cover for Never To Sleep the new soul screamers novella. It is really pretty!!

Don’t Close Your Eyes.

Sophie Cavanaugh is not going to let her freak of a cousin’s strange psychiatric condition ruin high school for them both. Not after all the work she’s put into cultivating the right look, and friends, and reputation. But then Sophie sees something so frightening she lets out a blood-curdling scream—and finds herself stuck in a bizarre parallel world where nothing is safe and deadly creatures lurk just out of sight, waiting for her to close her eyes and sleep…forever.

Could this world be real? Or does insanity run in the family…?

Never To Sleep takes place somewhere in the middle of If I Die and I am excited to read it. I love the Soul Screamers series and as much Sophia is annoying it will be interesting see things from her point of view. And this new guy Luca, Rachel has mentioned he seems really interesting and hot, hehe. :) It will be released January 1st 2012. It will have to hold us die hard fans over until the release of Before I Wake. Which seems so. far. away!

What are your thoughts on the cover?

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking The Spine were you spotlight a book that hasn't come out yet but you are dying to read. This week my Waiting on Wednesday pick is..

Wings of the Wicked by Courtney Allison Moulton

From Goodreads:

Life as the Preliator is harder than Ellie ever imagined.
Balancing real life with the responsibility of being Heaven’s warrior is a challenge for Ellie. Her relationship with Will has become all business, though they both long for each other. And now that the secret of who she really is has come out, so have Hell’s strongest reapers. Grown bold and more vicious, the demonic threaten her in the light of day and stalk her in the night.

She’s been warned.
Cadan, a demonic reaper, comes to her with information about Bastian’s new plan to destroy Ellie’s soul and use an ancient relic to wake all the souls of the damned and unleash them upon humanity. As she fights to stay ahead of Bastian’s schemes , the revelations about those closest to her awaken a dark power within Ellie that threatens to destroy everything—including herself.

She’ll be betrayed.
Treachery comes even from those whom she loves, and Ellie is broken by the deaths of those who stood beside her in this Heavenly war. Still, she must find a way to save the world, herself, and her love for Will. If she fails, there will be hell to pay.

I have been dying to get my hands on Wings Of the Wicked the moment I read that very last page of Angelfire. Wings of the Wicked won't be released until February 14 2012. I can't wait! I loved Angelfire so much. Courtney's writing is just so amazing and it sticks with you even after you have finished reading the book.

Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Should Be Reading were you grab a book, open it up, find something that isn't going to spoil the book and share it. You do this twice, but make sure it isn't a SPOILER line! This will be the third meme I am trying and I'm hoping to stick with it. So here it goes these two teaser lines will be coming from The Den of Shadows Quartet by Amelia AtWater-Rhodes.

"Cold," she heard behind her. "Very cold. I approve completely." (pg. 139 from Demon In My View.)

"You live to make trouble don't you?" "Life is nothing without a little chaos to make it interesting." (pg.243 from Demon In My View.)

If you haven't read The Den of Shadows quartet I so recommend it! I love this book so much! Add it to your TBR list you will not regret it!

Random Ramblings #3

Hey guys! I figured today since I don't plan on doing anything today but read, revise and write up this post I would just make this a Random Ramblings. And since I have only done one post so far about the Mascots which was basically just introducing them to you all I figured I would do another post about them. Be prepared for cuteness. :)

He looks real thrilled in that hat right? :)

They are my models for when I get the urge to try and be a somewhat of a good photographer haha. I would really like to know if you guys like this whole mascot thing. I like to hear from my followers! :)

Okay switching gears from cuteness too hotness. So I watched August Rush a couple nights ago and I can not get enough of Jonathan Rhys Meyers voice and all of him really. He's just so good looking!

I currently am listening to the song Something Inside from the movie...its been on replay the last few days. If you haven't seen August Rush I so recommend it. Whether you just want to see the Irish hunk above or you want to hear some amazing music or just want to watch an amazing movie all together August Rush is that movie.

I recently watched the book trailer for Unleashed by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie.

I must say the very ending was intriguing. I have not yet read any of these two authors books but I do have Possessions on my bookshelf to be read. It sounds like a pretty good book, they both do. Here's the trailer if you haven't already seen it. Just bare through the trailer its kind of just okay from the start but the ending really intrigued me.

Oh! Since I'm already talking about book trailers the small sneak peek for the trailer-or maybe its the full thing? Not exactly sure.-for Clockwork Prince totally has me wanting to toss all the other books ahead of Clockwork Angel on my TBR aside and read Clockwork Angel. I heard its really good which doesn't surprise me much. Cassandra Clare is a talented writer. What do you guys think? Should I set aside Bite Club and start Clockwork Angel instead? This right here makes me want too...

This trailer was done by Vania at VLC Productions and I absolutely love it. The music! Its so pretty!!

Well I think that's all I have to ramble about for today. Hope you enjoyed my rambling thoughts. They kind of bounce around from one thing to the other pretty fast sometimes.

Friday Foreign Editons

Holy cow...its already Friday? Were in the world did the week go!? Thou I can't complain because then that means Thanksgiving break is coming and I have a couple days off from school! :) Does everyone have plans for Thanksgiving? Does it involve getting stuffed completely and then snuggling up with a good book? That sounds pretty nice actually. So I wanted to add something before I dive into the Friday Foreign Editions. On the side were it says what I am currently reading I would like to tell you I have not started Bite Club yet but I plan too. If your expecting maybe a review sometime soon or just think I am the slowest reader on the face of the earth that isn't the case. I have just been busy with school so I haven't had as much time to read as I would like. But I have Bite Club listed because that is what I plan to dive into the moment I can and Thanksgiving break seems like the perfect time! Anyways if you weren't wondering when there would be a review or thinking I am the slowest reader ever you probably are now! :D Okay so my pick for this Friday Foreign Editions is If I Die by Rachel Vincent.

U.S Edition:

Stunning cover. Probably my favorite out of the whole series next to My Soul to Save. The vibrant green against the black is just so pretty.

U.K Edition:

I love this cover and am so buying it one day even thou I already own the copy above. Its so pretty. I'm not exactly sure why they chose to put a dragonfly on the cover but what ever there decision the cover is gorgeous.

French Edition:

I love, love, love this one. I think its because the girl is screaming and the bright red lips is a nice touch against the fog. Its like perfect! One Kaylee screams a lot. Two the red lips are just pretty. And three the fog makes me think she is in the the process of stepping over into the Netherworld. I might just end up buying this one two even thou I can only read a little bit of French. :)

So what do you guys think? Do you have a favorite or do you love them all?

And the song of the week is Dreamer by Jenn Grant which is featured on an amazing show aired in Canada named Heartland which is in fact based on the book series Heartland which I plan to read. So if you haven't heard of the show or the books look them up! And this song is just amazing and a good song to write to for me at least. Hope you like it if you don't already! :)

And I just realized the person who made this video features images of cast at the end so if you were wondering who those people are there the cast. Guy at the end is pretty cute eh? That would be Ty who is an awesome character in the show. In case you haven't realized it yet I love this show and recommend it if your looking for a nice clean and overall amazing show with horses in it.

It's finally here

Today is the big day for us Twi-hard fans. Breaking Dawn Part 1 is premiering tonight at midnight. I however will not be able to go see it tonight. I am bummed but as long as I get to see it sometime soon I am one happy camper. So my question is how many of you will be seeing it?

I know there are some fans who dislike the movies, but if you really think about it and get past how different they are from the books they have done good getting as much as they could into the movies. Sure I was disappointed when I saw Twilight-at first. Sure I was disappointed when I saw New Moon-at first. Sure I was disappointed when I saw Eclipse-at first. There was so much that weren't in the movies but after watching the movies oh a good million times I love them to pieces. Yeah, there is a lot missing but its understandable you can only fit so much into a certain time slot. Personally the movies have all been good and I love them and I love the cast. I will stop now before I go on a rant but my point is the movies may not be exactly like the books but if you think about it they do pretty well and its nice to be able to see something we all love so much on the big screen.

So I have a few questions for my fellow Twi-hard fans one of them being are you Team Edward or are you Team Jacob? Or are you Switzerland? Explain your answer in the comments! :)

Who will it be ladies? The brooding vampire or the brooding werewolf? I will always be Team Edward when it comes to the books but with the films I slowly can feel myself loving Jacob too.

My next question is if Edward and Jacob weren't the main boys in the books would you be Team Emmett or Team Jasper?

I <3 Emmett in both the movies and the books. Thou I know there are lots of fans out there who dig Jasper. :D

I totally had this clever question in my head as I started writing this post and it has escaped me. Oh well, maybe it will come to me next year for Part 2. It seems kind of crazy that after that there will be no more Twilight movies. Okay before I post this I am going to step away and hope that question comes to me. If not then well this will be posted with only the three questions I asked. :)

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking The Spine that spotlights books that aren't out yet but we are dying to read. This week my pick for Waiting on Wednesday is...

The Calling by Kelley Armstrong:

On the heels of the wildly popular The Gathering comes the second in the "Darkness Rising" YA trilogy from NYT bestselling author Kelley Armstrong.
Maya Delaney's paw-print birthmark is the mark of what she truly is--a skin-walker. She can run faster, climb higher, and see better than nearly everyone else. Experiencing intense connections with the animals that roam the woods outside her home, Maya knows it's only a matter of time before she's able to Shift and become one of them. And she believes there may be others in her small town with surprising talents.

Now, Maya and her friends have been forced to flee from their homes during a forest fire they suspect was deliberately set. Then they're kidnapped, and after a chilling helicopter crash, they find themselves in the Vancouver Island wilderness with nothing but their extraordinary abilities to help them get back home.

The Calling by Kelley Armstrong isn't to be released until April 10 2012. I can not wait for this book to come out. I fell in love with Kelley Armstrong's writing the moment I read the Darkest Powers series. The Darkness Rising series so far is just as good and the wait for book two is killing me! I will be one happy girl when April 10th comes around.

So you know what my Waiting on Wednesday pick is. What is yours? Share your reason behind your choice in the comments. I love hearing what you guys have to say! :)

On a completely different topic there is this giveaway on Word Spelunking everyone needs to go check out! There are some cool books plus swag being given away its international too! Oh and did I mention there are 3 winners? So you have a pretty good shot at winning!

Out Today!

Every Novel Nerds Heaven

I know I am a total book nerd when I see a huge section of shelves in some thrift store and my eyes light up. I also know that they had awesome books there for such amazing prices I can't even begin to tell you okay maybe I can. I will start off by saying I could buy 15 paperback books for 5 bucks. Yes, I am in heaven. I totally know going back there sometime soon. 20 bucks there and I could strike gold. Anyways my point is that its amazing where you can find books for such good prizes. I had no idea this place had books and now that I do I may just become a regular. So people start checking out places other than bookstores if you already don't. Don't get me wrong I'll still be shopping at my normal bookstores but to think how much money I can save and get a crap load of books. I see some giveaways in the near future. So I got these books yesterday for 5 dollars. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who woke up to find a puppy under the tree.

Yes I know, that is Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. I am probably the only human being on the face of the earth who hasn't read any of the Harry Potter books. But I am finally going to read the books and no longer be that person who hasn't read Harry Potter. And I am pretty darn excited.  I am so excited to have bought Numbers by Rachel Ward. Can't wait to dive into it. Also it took me forever but finally got Burned. Sometimes when a series is as big as the House of Night I fall behind because there are so many other amazing books coming out. I'm sure I'm not the only one who falls behind on certain book series. All I can say is I need some control and bigger bookshelf's. I have books hidden behind other books because I have no room. But what can I say? Books are my weakness. :)

Friday Foreign Editions

Its Friday so you know what that means its Friday Foreign Editions. But I have to ask do you guys enjoy Friday Foreign Editions? Leave some of your thoughts on it in the comments please. I like to know whether or not what I am blogging you guys actually enjoy reading it. So for this Friday I have chosen Bloodlines by Richelle Mead.

U.S Edition:

I love this cover. Its just perfect. The model for Sydney if perfect thou I don't know who the guy is supposed to be. Does anyone? Let me know if you know who the guy is supposed to be. Anyways I also really like who the font for Bloodlines looks like a a thorny rose bush vines. So pretty! I love the red as well and how at the bottom its a more darker red than the top.

U.K Edition:

Okay I will be honest I really don't like this cover. But I will tell you what I do like. I like the font that Vampire Academy is and I like that Bloodlines is the same as the US only its black. But that's about it for this cover.

Bulgarian Edition:

I want to say this is the Bulgarian cover but I cant be sure so if I'm wrong sorry! This cover is pretty and I like how it looks like around the girl is veil of shinning sparkly stuff.

I could only find these three covers for Bloodlines. What do you guys think? Do you have a favorite? Mine would have to be the U.S cover. Now for the song of the week which is Rolling in the Deep by Adele. I love this song. I first heard it in I Am Number Four which don't even get me started on how much I loved that movie because I will drive you insane. But first before I give you the song I am going to post the first trailer for Snow White and The Huntsman. Oh my it looks so amazing. Kristen Stewart's movies are always good so I have no doubt this one will rock!

Looks totally awesome right? I love Kristen's hair so pretty. Okay so here is the song.

We all know about the Vampire Academy books you would have to live under a rock not to. We all love the series to pieces and were sad that it was ending and we would no longer get to read about Rose's adventures and tangled love life. Then we heard there was going to be a spinoff. Some of us were hesitant to read the spinoff called Bloodlines. I for one was not one of those people. I was stoked to find out that I could still read about the world Richelle created in the Vampire Academy series just with a different protagonist. I loved Rose and I loved reading her story but I was kind of excited to learn we would be seeing some of the same characters from VA that may not have been in the spotlight. One of those characters was Eddie who personally I love and was glad I could read more about him.  I will admit when I learned it was Sydney who was the protagonist I was a little disappointed since when she first came in to Vampire Academy I just wasn't a big fan of her. She grew on me through out the books thou. But what I can say is having Sydney be the protagonist seeing inside her head and the way her life is was just an amazing read. I love Sydney now just as much as I love Rose. Okay I guess I should stop gushing and get to the review huh?

**If you haven't read the VA books read at your own risk.**

For starters if you are expecting Sydney to be anything like Rose you may as well just close that door right now. Sydney is the total opposite of Rose. Where Rose is rash and doesn't think things through before acting Sydney dissects every little thing before making a move. Where Rose may go around punching people who personally deserve a good punch in the nose Sydney will find another less physical way for payback. But one thing they do have in common is they are both kick butt girls who thou different in a lot of ways can do some series damage control. If you weren't a fan of Sydney in VA you better be prepared to become a fan in Bloodlines because Sydney is hard to not like.

I really liked the setting for this book. I loved that they were at this Boarding school were some funky stuff is going down. It was a different setting than VA but it was a good change. I won't spoil anything from people who haven't read Bloodlines yet but I will say Richelle Mead is brilliant. What was going down at that school was just a brilliant idea that I didn't see coming.

Dimitri lovers be prepared to fall for Adrian. We can love them both right? I'm sure they wouldn't mind. :) I was routing for Dimitri from the start of VA and I just wanted Adrian to go away and stop ruining things with Rose and Dimitri. And I kind of feel sorry for being so mean to him in my head. Now I understand why there are some Team Adrian folks out there who were just hoping Dimirti would fall of the face of the earth so Rose and him could be together. Rose and Dimitri are just meant together thou really and I say that totally not taking sides. And honestly I am  so glad she didn't end up with Adrian because then I would have never had the chance to fall for him in Bloodlines and understand why people love him so much.

Eddie is another reason I loved the book so much. I really liked him in VA and wish he would have had more scenes than he did. All I have to say is how can you not love Eddie? Now that I think about it I kind of love every guy from VA..Christopher, Dimitri, Eddie, and now Adrian I even liked Mason a lot and cried my eyes out when he died. I don't think I have loved so many boys from a series before. Jill is another character I seriously love. I loved her from the start and am so glad I got to read more about her. Okay let me just make it simple and say Richelle Mead makes so many awesome characters you may as well just deal with the fact you love everyone except maybe the bad guys. But then again maybe your into the bad guys and you like them too! Richelle makes some great bad guys too so its understandable.

I tried not to give to much away but I did give away some spoilers for some of the VA books so if you haven't read those yet sorry for ruining it for you! I warned you though there might be some spoilers so please don't throw virtual tomatoes at me. I am giving Bloodlines 5 out of 5 stars. I finished this book in 2 sittings it was so good. Only two because you know I had to sleep and eat and all that stuff. I even risked ruining my eyesight to read this when the power went out because of a huge storm so you know it was good enough to possibly need glasses in the future! I can't even begin to tell you how much I want The Golden Lily to get here! If you still haven't read this book because you are afraid it won't be good. Be brave and just read it because seriously? Its awesome and Richelle Mead never disappoints with her books.

Waiting on Wednesday

I want to try something new called Waiting on Wednesday a weekly event  hosted by Breaking the Spine which is about new releases we are eager to read but aren't quite out in stores yet. This will be the first meme I'm trying out and I probably will just stick with this one until it becomes part of my normal blogging routine and then as I go I may add a second one.

Anyways here is my pick for Waiting on Wednesday:

The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead: Tough, brainy alchemist Sydney Sage and doe-eyed Moroi princess Jill Dragomir are in hiding at a human boarding school in the sunny, glamorous world of Palm Springs, California. The students - children of the wealthy and powerful - carry on with their lives in blissful ignorance, while Sydney, Jill, Eddie and Adrian must do everything in their power to keep their secret safe. But with forbidden romances, unexpected spirit bonds, and the threat of Strigoi moving ever closer, hiding the truth is harder than anyone thought.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Richelle Mead's breathtaking Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive. In this second book, the drama is hotter, the romances are steamier, and the stakes are even higher.

This is a book I have been dying to read the moment I finished reading Bloodlines. That ending!! Richelle Mead is known for her endings and she did a good one with Bloodlines. I am so excited for this one to come out it isn't supposed to be released until June 19 2012 but I will just pretend that isn't as far away as it seems. :) So you know what my Waiting on Wednesday book is what is yours?

Novel Nerd Mascots..thats right Mascots.

Just for fun I am giving this blog mascots. And one of those mascots would be no one other than the black cat on my blog button.

Yep, that is Nesster or as I like to call him "The Monster" but you know Ness works too. I figure to make things fun I will  randomly post pictures of the Novel Nerd Mascots on the blog and you guys can go "Aww why is he called the monster he looks so sweet!" :D Looks can be deceiving folks ;) Thou in all truth I love this guy and that's why he will be my blogs mascot along with my other cat Lucky or as I call him Chubbers.
In case you didn't notice I give all my pets nicknames that fit them perfectly. :) This guy right here is as sweet as he looks no deceiving what so ever. Anyways I'm gushing about my cats and before the thought "She is so gonna be the old lady with 15 cats!" can develop in your brain I will stop and continue to explain why a blog needs some mascots. So my reasoning behind this is to make the blog unique and fun.  I hope you guys like this idea. If not then I am saying sorry in advance. But how can you not like it? Look at those faces? They were born to be mascots! Hehe

On a completely different topic there is a book I have been wanting to read out today and I hope some of you guys go pick it up and give it a home! Its called The Sharp Time by Marry O'connell.

Another release today is Don't Expect Magic by Kathy Mcullough another book I have wanted to read that is finally here!

So what do you guys think? Will you go buy these two books? I hope so it will make me and some authors very happy. No pressure or anything. :D On another completely different topic remember how I said I wasn't that into The Secret Circle? Yeah well its finally starting to find its groove. Last episode was really good and I was impressed. I wasn't that into it at first because well all that was happening was they were getting chased by crazy people who wanted them dead. But its getting good now the only down fall is its going on a break and there is only one episode left. Totally disappointing. I don't even need to say how AMAZING The Vampire Diaries was everyone already knows. But what I will say is this...I love Damon. I feel sorry for Rebekah and so want her to come to the good side. Stefan drives me insane and I wish he would just disappear. When is Elijah coming back? I miss him. I cant be the only one who liked him and found him attractive..right? This is the part were you reassure me and nod.
