Random Ramblings #2

I think I want to start doing something with music on this blog. Like maybe a song of the week kind of thing. Might be fun. I will share the song I cant stop hitting replay on and you guys can share whatever song maybe is the song of your week. Sound good? But on a completely different note I am determined to finish The Iron King by this Friday so a review should be coming shortly! This will be a pretty short post but I have one more question. The poll I made is ending in two days and I was curious what kind of poll you guys would want to vote on next whether it was your favorite book boy or villain, heroine that sort of thing. Let me know in the comments! Okay well that's its for today I'm going to share the song I cant stop listening to by Christina Perri. Its called A Thousand Years and I love it! Such a good song to write to.

This song with be on the Breaking Dawn soundtrack which that movie is starting to really get close and I am getting very excited! Who plans on going to see Breaking Dawn?

Friday Foreign Editions

So last Friday I forgot to do a foreign editions post and instead did a giveaway which I'm sure most of you were a-okay with which by the way the contest closes and a winner will be chosen and contacted on Halloween morning so you still have two days left to enter if you want a signed bookmark by Rachel Vincent and a book of your choice! I've chosen Blue is for nightmares series by Laurie Stolarz for this Friday foreign edition which anyone who hasn't read this book series yet needs to get on that ASAP. I might even do a book review on this series soon as well since its such a good and often scary book series. Good Halloween read if your going to stay home and need a good Halloween recommendation. Project 17 is also a good one to by Laurie kept me on my toes and looking over my shoulder. But anyways on to the foreign editions!

U.S Editions:

Hmm, well it looks like all the covers are the same. But since I love this series so much I'm going to keep my recommendation up along with the covers. This series really is a must read. I've chosen Raised by Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes to do instead. I loved this book so much. Another must read!

U.S and UK Edition:

I love this cover its so pretty. Definitely an awesome cover with all the dark blues and black. I love the look on the girls face to even if you can only see her side profile it looks like at any moment she could turn into this force that could kick some series butt.

N/A Edition possibly the ARC cover(?):

I'm not exactly sure what edition this is. I'm thinking maybe for the ARCs but I honestly don't know. I love it thou. I actually prefer this one even thou I love the US cover so much. But this one shows the main characters strength so well and I love how part of the moon is on fire.

And once again they all are the same covers except for the one I found above. So I'm going to try something new and chose a random foreign cover without telling you which book I'm choosing and have you guess what book you think it is.

Can you guess which book this is? I chose this one because um hello the cover is gorgeous! Of course it looks even better without a black box covering up the authors name. Just because I love the next cover as well I will post it to for your viewing.

 Pretty huh?

I just came across this book today Between by Jessica Warman and I can honestly say it sounds so good I want to go buy it now and do nothing but read it until I finish it. But since I can't do that I will share my excitement will all of you and hope maybe you will want to read the book to!

Summary from Goodreads: Elizabeth Valchar--pretty, popular, and rich--wakes up the morning after her eighteenth birthday on the yacht where she'd been celebrating with her closest friends. A persistent thumping noise has roused her. When she goes to investigate, she finds her own drowned body is hitting the side of the boat. Liz is dead.

She has no memory of what happened to her, and can only observe in horror the fallout of her death. She's also soon joined by Alex Berg, a quiet boy from her high school who was killed by a hit-and-run driver. The two keep each other company, floating in and out of memories and trying to piece together the details of what happened to each of them.

Everything about this book is intriguing from the description to the cover. I will most defiantly be adding this book to my to be read pile. Will you be reading Between in the near future or have you already read it? If so did you like it?

Out Today!

Two awesome books are out today. Crave by Melissa Darnell and The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa! I have been dying to read Crave and now that I have started the Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa I can not wait to be able to finish the whole series with out having to wait to get to read the Iron Knight. These are two books you must go buy people! :)

Crave by Melissa Darnell

Summary from Goodreads: Savannah Colbert has never known why she's so hated by the kids of the Clann. Nor can she deny her instinct to get close to Clann golden boy Tristan Coleman. Especially when she recovers from a strange illness and the attraction becomes nearly irresistible. It's as if he's a magnet, pulling her gaze, her thoughts, even her dreams. Her family has warned her to have nothing to do with him, or any members of the Clann. But when Tristan is suddenly everywhere she goes, Savannah fears she's destined to fail.

For years, Tristan has been forbidden to even speak to Savannah Colbert. Then Savannah disappears from school for a week and comes back…different, and suddenly he can't stay away. Boys seem intoxicated just from looking at her. His own family becomes stricter than ever. And Tristan has to fight his own urge to protect her, to be near her no matter the consequences…
Uh hello intriguing description! This book sounds amazing and I've heard some good stuff about it from people who got an ARC. The cover is absolutely stunning! The white dress against all that red? Beautiful.  Anyone else as excited as me to read Crave? If so your in luck it came out today! :D

The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa

Summary from Goodreads: My name—my True Name—is Ashallayn'darkmyr Tallyn.
I am the last remaining son of Mab, Queen of the Unseelie Court. And I am dead to her.
My fall began, as many stories do, with a girl…

I just started this book series and am already falling for it and Ash and possibly Puck as well. :) I can not tell you how many rave reviews this book has gotten and if the series is as good as The Iron King has been then I can only imagine how amazing the other books get to this final one. Can't wait!

Random Ramblings #1

So I just now realized I was supposed to do another foreign editions yesterday but instead did a giveaway. Haha so I guess you won't be seeing another foreign edition post until next Friday! Anyways, a review for the Iron King should be coming very soon. So far I am loving this book. This post is going to be about a lot of random things . . . you have been warned! :D

Has anyone read the Secret Circle by L.J Smith? Decent book series that has been turned into a TV show on the CW along with The Vampire Diaries. I'm not gonna lie I'm not really feeling it with this show, but considering I was originally disappointed with VD I wont stop watching it. The Vampire Diaries turned out to be a awesome show I fell personally in love with including Ian Somerhadler who plays Damon perfectly!

Team Damon <3 I mean seriously how could you not be? He's gorgeous!!

Moving on before I start blabbering incessantly about Mr. Somerhalder I will move onto another random topic since this is all about randomness. I have been thinking a lot about who my favorite YA guy is since this question seems to be asked quite often and I was wondering who your favorite YA guy would have to be? For me personally Tod Hudson pops into my mind. But I mean seriously how do the people who ask this question expect us to just chose one?? So I guess what I am really asking is, is it possible to just chose one or are you like me and you could write up a whole list of your favorite book boys?

November is finally right around the corner which means *drum roll* Breaking Dawn will be coming out!! I can not wait for this installment! Here's the trailer and the movie poster just to get you fellow twihards even more stoked for this movie!

Since I'm already talking about books that have been adapted into either a movie or a TV show I may as well talk about the Hunger Games...How could I not?? I have been so excited about this movie from the moment I heard about it. And then when the poster that moved and had sound got released I got even more excited. And then came the short trailer and I was at the point of thinking "Why isn't it March yet dang it?". I know I am not alone on this either. All us Hunger Games fans want March to just get here already! Sigh, but since its not March I will post the trailer.

I think I will end this rambling post here before I can go on any further about books that are being turned into films that I cant wait for and this turns into a mile long. :) Any books being turned into movies I didn't talk about on here you are excited about? Fill me in!

I Heart You, You Haunt me

I Heart You, You Haunt Me by Lisa Schroeder is a beautifully written inverse novel that had my gut in a knot and tears streaming down my face. This was my very first read in inverse and all I can say is I have never had a book effect me in such away before. I don't think there was a moment when reading this book when I wasn't crying. Even after finishing the book the story stuck with me and I felt like crying all over again. This book is just an amazing read, but be warned you better have some tissues ready because you will be sobbing like a baby.

Summary from Amazon:

Girl meets boy.

Girl loses boy.

Girl gets boy back...
 ...sort of.

Ava can't see him or touch him, unless she's dreaming. She can't hear his voice, except for the faint whispers in her mind. Most would think she's crazy, but she knows he's here.
Jackson. The boy Ava thought she'd spend the rest of her life with. He's back from the dead, as proof that love truly knows no bounds.

I think I was hooked the moment I saw the cover of the book read the title and read the description. But I wont lie when I opened the book to the first page I noticed something a little different. The book was in inverse which at the time I didn't know what that was. So instead of buying the book like I knew I should have I set it down not sure if I would like the book or not. I regret that decision because this books is so so good and heart breaking! Months went on and I would keep seeing that little book written in inverse yet I wouldn't buy it. Finally after way to long I bought the book. Read it. Loved it. Reread it. Loved it even more. This book is truly amazing. I wish I would have read it sooner. Though this book is written differently it is a story no one wants to miss. I absolutely love inverse books now and recommend any book written in inverse. It may be different but its the best kind of different you will ever find.

This books gets 5 out of 5 stars from me! I recommend any of Lisa Schroeder books they are all amazing! Can't wait to finally read The Day Before the book sounds so good and the cover is stunning! If you haven't read I Heart You, You Haunt Me do it now you wont regret  it!

Books vs. Kindles

Sales for the Kindle, Nook etc are rising severally and personally I don't understand it. Yes I understand its nice that you can read a book on the Kindle while lets say your eating Cheetos and you don't have to worry about smearing orange Cheetos cheese on the pages. Yeah that must be nice, but I still don't get it and probably never will. I'm blogging about this topic today because I've heard a lot of controversy on this topic and the mention of what if Kindle gets so big that's the ONLY way you can read a book? What if they just stop making good old fashioned books all together? Just the thought makes my stomach churn inside. I refuse to buy or even think about buying a Kindle or Nook just because of those two questions. I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this topic and that's fine everyone has there own opinion and I'm cool with that.

I can remember being a kid and not really being into reading and then I slowly started to get into it starting with the Junie B. Jones and The Magic Tree House books. It wasn't until in my tween years did I really start to appreciate books. I read the first Twilight book by Stephanie Meyer and that was it I was a true book worm after that! Thank goodness for Stephanie Meyer without Twilight I don't know if I would be the avid reader and writer that I am today. Your probably wondering why the heck I'm sharing this and I will get to my point soon I promise. I just have a lot to say about this topic so bare with me and I will try not to bore you to death with my strong opinions. :) After reading Twilight I was becoming a regular at my local book stores buying books by Sarah Dessen (who I absolutely adore and hope to get to meet some day!), L.J Smith, Claudia Gabel, Hailey Abbott, Rachel Caine, Alyson Noel and so on. I just could not get enough books!

To this day as I write this I am a true book worm. Anytime I have money I instantly think what books can I get this time? I think what my main point of telling you all of this is books are a huge part of my life. I don't know what I would do with out them. Sure you still get the same book on the Kindle as you would at the book store but to me its just so different. Doesn't it hurt your eyes to stare at the screen for so long? Doesn't it suck not being able to go to the bookstore and stay there for hours just looking at the books and finding some you never even heard of?

For me I love everything about getting a new book the smell, having the cover up close and in detail, being able to put it on my bookshelf after reading it and seeing it with all my other books, and just plan holding it in my hands as I'm curled cozily under the blankets. Maybe I'm just not good with change but just the thought of the possibility of those two questions coming true irks me. And I'm not suggesting it will happen I'm just giving my opinion on the possibility that if it did happen everyone knows where I stand.

The fact Kindle is so big right now there's got to be something nice about it or else people wouldn't be buying Kindles. Like the fact you can bring any book you want with you and not worry about the pages getting all bent up in your purse or suitcase. That does sound nice and I am a bit OCD when it comes to that sort or thing. The prices are cheaper as well aren't they? I will admit that's a nice bonus too. But I will always stick with going to the book store and buying books rather than getting a Kindle. That's just me. What are your thoughts on this subject?

The Scorpio Races is out TODAY!

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater is out TODAY!!! I have been dying to read this book since I read the description and saw the cover! I mean seriously look at that cover its gorgeous! I love the dark red and how the girl and horse are black so you cant see there faces. And even with not being able to see the girl and horses face they look fierce.

Summary from Barnes&Noble:

Some race to win.

Others race to survive.

It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line.

Some riders live.

Others die.

At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.

Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn't given her much of a choice. So she enters the competition - the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen.

Just the description of the book sounds so amazing!  Sean Kendrick already sounds swoon worthy. I love horses and adventure-and this book sure does sound like its going to have a lot of adventure in it-so I have no doubt when I get my hands on this book I'm going to devour it. Anyone else dying to read The Scorpio Races? If so what are you waiting for? Go buy it! Its finally out!

The Body Finder

Summary from Barnes & Nobel: Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes the dead leave behind in the world . . .and the imprints that attach to their killers.

The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting is a must read. This book is full of eerie suspense that has you wondering what is going to be around the corner? Something absolutely scary of course! I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this book. I devoured every word in one sitting and wished I had book two in my hands already! Not only is there paranormal suspense there's also a love story thrown into the perfect mix. Your not going to want to miss Violet's suspenseful story.

The Cover: This cover is lovely. I love the vibrant blue against the black. Its just perfect. Thou I do tend to like covers with models on them I absolutely love this one and couldn't imagine it any other way. I also really like the font they use with Kimberly's name very pretty!

The Title: Love the title! The Body Finder right there in that title is suspense and mystery for you. I want to say the title alone is what made me pick it up at the bookstore in the first place. And I am so glad I did!

The Main Characters:  Violet is an awesome narrator. I loved reading about her story and her voice was just so easy to get drawn into. I loved her snappy dialogue and everything else about her. Kimberly Derting made a very likable character.

Jay is that guy character you wish you could pull out of the book and claim as your boyfriend. He's sweet, funny, charming, hot, and a list of many other things that could go on endlessly.

Basically what I am saying is go buy this book if you haven't done so yet!! Its truly an awesome read that I may just go reread again now...yes its that good. :)

Cover Reveal!

Bree Despain reveled her new novels cover today on her blog! What do you guys think? Apparently in person its more coral pink than red. I think its gorgeous!

Friday Foreign Editions

Every Friday starting today I'm going to make a post all about Foreign editions of YA books. Its always cool to see the different covers and how each country takes a different interpretation of the book. And as you will find the more I blog I'm a big cover nerd. Okay so I'm going to make this post all about the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead who I absolutely love. I meet her at one of her signings and she was so funny and nice! Her writing is just amazing. I'm going to start off first with the U.S editions and then work my way down to other countries.

U.S Editions:

I love our covers. Vampire Academy's cover is so perfect because the look on the girls face is totally Rose. Frost Bite's cover totally works too. The events in this book are pretty gut wrenching and the look on her face again is just perfect. Same with the other covers they just represent the books so well. Personally my favorite cover out of the series would have to be Last Sacrifice.

U.K Editions:

I am not a big fan of these covers. I usually prefer it when books have actually models on them but there still nice. The U.K also has the same covers as we do just darker.

Korean Editions:

I could only find the two books so I'm just going to assume Korea only has the first two books out. I think these two covers are pretty cool. I like the first one with Rose and Lissa the best.

Germany Editions:

I really like these covers. They're different then our covers but in a good way. My favorite would either have to be FrostBite or Last Sacrifice.

Dutch Editions:

I could only find the first three books. These covers are gorgeous! The first one is just so pretty! I love that on FrostBite she is holding a sword. I would totally buy these Editions just to have them!

Bulgarian Editions:

Okay, I'm going to stop here even thou I'm sure there are lots more awesome Foreign Covers to find! I like these ones, especially the crow sitting on the gate. Spirit Bound I would have to say is my favorite out of them all. Out of all these covers which would have to be your favorites?
